The first stop will be The Loire, famed for its beautiful Chateaux, sparkling cremant, shellfish and crisp white wines. Cabernet franc reds from Chinon are sipped with pork dishes and rillettes. Not to forget the unctuous sweet gems from the Coteau du Layon, Bonnezeau and Vouvray which pair beautifully with the’ king of puddings’ Tarte Tatin.
The first leg will be on Thursday 7 th March at 7pm with a wine and cheese tasting involving: ... Cremant de Loire, Muscadet Sevre et Maine-sur lie, Sancerre, Chinon red and a Layon, alongside cheeses from Cœur de Berry, St Maure de Touraine, Selles sur cher and Crottin de Chavignol. The kitchen will also be making a traditional ‘Le Mans’ rillette for the occasion, with some crusty baguettes from The Angel bakery.

Richard extended a warm welcome at the Kestrel Inn. After a delicious steak and blue cheese sandwich lunch I was made probably the best coffee I've had in many months.

Ample parking a lovely newly renovated rooms too.

A gem.

User

Not just great food, The Kestrel offer amazing food. All home cooked & food sourced locally. The sticky toffee pudding is to die for. Would definitely recommend this lovely pub. Great atmosphere with log burner. Even the mulled wine was the best I've ever had.

User

My fiance and I stopped here yesterday on the off chance that we could get some lunch and I am so glad we did! What a fantastic place. The views are incredible, the decor was gorgeous, the host was absolutely lovely and most importantly, the food was out of this world. The burger with triple cooked chips was amazing and the sticky toffee pudding actually left me speechless! Incredible chef. We are already planning our next visit! Nothing but praise for this lovely place 👍👍

User

Lovely to see The Kestrel open again as this was always our favourite place to eat. Visited for lunch today and the food was superb. We were given a very warm welcome by the new owners. Will definitely be coming back as this is a little gem of a gastro pub.

User

Lovely food, good wine selection and great welcome and service in delightful surroundings. Thank you

User

Just passing on our way to Brecon and saw the Kestrel. Good looking place from the outside and nice and comfortable inside too. Dog friendly bar and a great Sunday lunch, together with a nice ale and a good choice of wines, all served by a great landlord and his family. Their own-blend coffee is well worth a mention too.

User

I remember coming here as a child and was happy to hear it had reopened. Went for lunch and was really impressed amazing food and the best ice cream I've ever had. Lovely inside and fantastic views outside everyone should make a trip here

User

I booked a table last night for my belated birthday meal. There were six of us 'girls' and we were made to feel very welcome, a lovely cosy pub, I hadn't been to the Kestrel for years and was pleased to see it looking so fresh and tastefully decorated. The food was delicious and well presented, reasonably priced and good value for money. We will be back and I will certainly tell all my friends that the Kestrel Inn is back on the map.

User
