Wow! Dads 60th and didn’t disappoint! Not often you go to a pub/restaurant and all the staff are polite and switched on including the chefs cause that meal was amazing! Thanks team!

User

Went tonight for a birthday meal, 9 of us in total. Can't fault the service, the food or the staff. The young girl seeing to our table was very attentive an polite. Food arrived quickly an hot, no complaints. They even brought the birthday cake out with no hesitation. Definitely return an recommend.

I'm reading all the negative experiences customers have had , and I wonder if I was in the same place ?

I am a bit of a foodie and like quality Real Ales. My company have an account here so I'm a captive audience.

Firstly Hobgoblin on draft so an excellent start. The Rotisserie chicken I have found always pleasent and I have no quarm with the portion size. I don't have chips if I can avoid it , I'll have Jacket. This didn't come with butter and I did ask for some, which is my only moan.

The staff always seem polite and attentive. The place is clean and I feel good value for what it is, which is a Pub restaurant. If your looking for a Fine Dining experience then go elsewhere. But for decent food and a good pint , you will be ok.

User

Had a few trips here over the years en route to Bluestone! Staying at the premier inn! It’s really worked for us and we have been very satisfied with the pub!

User

Arrived to pre booked table for family meal. Young children as well. Looked after well by the staff, food was fine, beer good. Exactly what you would expect. Stayed in Premier Inn overnight and had a great breakfast, eat as much as you like. All in all happy with experience

User

Visited yesterday afternoon approx 4pm. There were a few people around but by no means busy. The initial service was very slow once we were seated. When eventually asked what we’d like, the food was no quicker in arriving. We had to ask for cutlery & serviettes. However, the food served was very nice & was hot. Just a pity we were sat close to a potty mouth Scottish lady of advancing years, but that’s not the fault of the restaurant.

User

The biggest let down was with the main course, steak, as a piece of steak it was rubbish, fatty and gristly, cooked lovely, but seriously they need to find a good butcher! That supplies quality meat! But the starter, and dessert was really nice, the craft ale lovely, staff polite, service prompt, atmosphere and environment pleasant, but let down by charging for expensive steak, when it would have been better used in a beef stew!!

User

My steak was done as ordered and size of portion was good value for money but my BFs burger was so burned and the accompanying onion rings and SP fries were total charcoal. It was very busy though so we decided to give it another go the following morning for breakfast only to find we couldnt eat there because we hadnt booked in via the hotel (opposite) the night before...despite being able to show our key card/bkg confirmation. but i hadnt realised they were that inflexible and we werent the only ones as a passing couple wandered in just after us to be told the same. Missing out on all that extra trade.. crazy!

User

Very disappointed the service was very poor. The food wasn't very warm when it arrived. I ordered a latte ten minutes still hadn't arrived so we decided to leave it was a shambles. Then to top it off they nearly charged us for the latte we never had so won't be going back anytime soon unless they improve on the service and food.

User

We met friends for lunch...it took them half an hour to take our order, food took 45 minutes to arrive two of the meals were cold the other two were luke warm when we complained they said they would replace them but we were hungry and didn't want to wait another 45 minutes and to be honest the food was awful. The only saving grace was that they didn't charge us for food or drinks. I would not recommend this establishment to anyone.

User

Very disappointed with the service harry got better and he lived in a cupboard If Amy was in hogwarts she would be slitherin. We don’t get out much since the deathly hallows and Sharnt be coming here again.

User

Service was very poor. The food taken over an hour to arrive and wasn’t even hot when it did eventually arrive.

Staff were really unhelpful. One in particular when I asked for a knife for my chicken.

Last of all at the beginning we asked if we could split the bill between us so we could pay separately got told that was fine.

At the end when we asked for the bill we got told we couldn’t split the bill so we had to sit with a pen and paper and work out what who needed to pay what. When you go out to enjoy a meal you shouldn’t have to do that or deal with the member of staff who was so unhelpful and to be honest rude.

Won’t be returning in the future.

User

Service was poor, food was poor, such a shame as it used to be so good, I live in premier inns and will make sure I never stay in one with a Marston pub attached to it ever

User

I’m not one for writing reviews on places but feel this has to be said. Myself and my wife went to the lost coin tonight, on what was granted a busy Saturday night. The food I received was the worst meal I have ever eaten at a “restaurant”. The chicken taco as it was so called could have been made better by a five year old. In my personal opinion 30 mins is to long to wait for a main course and basics such as having no cutlery at your table is beyond a joke. I can not fault the young man who served our table who was very polite the highlight of the evening.

User

Gone down hill food wise smaller portions and grisly meat ok for drinks and burgers only
