We had a fantastic weekend at Usk Christmas Market, thank you all for coming ! The Little Tipple Van with Prosecco was a big success, seen lots of regular faces as well as new ones and managed to pick a few bookings as well ! Have you tried our Gin yet? Whether you want to eat, drink, or both, this place is more than happy to accommodate, tasty platters, great cocktails and delicious ales, friendly and attentive staff, good tunes and a relaxed vibe, now visited several times and each time as enjoyable as the last, cheers guys!

What an exquisite find!! Have a group of friends that go out on Wednesday evening and this is the best venue we have been to since the group formed 3 years ago. Cristoff is not only beautiful, but makes an espresso martini crafted by the gods. The food is delicate and beautiful and accompanied by the sterling @Jim Ramsey on Wednesday evenings just adds to the experience. It is with a heavy heart that I move to New Zealand in a few days time and I only hope that I find a microbar and kitchen which is half as good as The Mad Platter. Keep up the good work guys and ill see you when I'm back. Thanks.

We love this place! Lovely to have something different in Usk with great platters and cocktails! Great for gluten free as you can have separate gf bread and crackers to enjoy with the platters - a must try bar!

Was really excited to try out this new venue as I had already heard great reviews. It didn't disappoint.

The greeting was warm and inviting. A personal touch was the named reservation plate instead of a generic sign.

Staff were friendly and accomodating and genuinely seemed pleased that we were there. Food was of a really good standard and although we were not of the 'mussels monday' crowd we were still treated to a fantastic platter and a wide varity of drinks.

A must for a gin connoisseur or just a beginner and a lovely variety of cocktails. (I can reccommend the espresso martini personally).

All in all a relaxed pleasant place to pop in or spend a few hours in an idillic village location.

Visited yesterday for my sisters baby shower which I organised! We had afternoon tea which was amazing, food was great, lots of choice and accommodated everyone's dietary requirements as requested. The service we received from the time of booking until the point we left was faultless! I have had so many messages from everyone who came yesterday with so many compliments. Thanks again for such an enjoyable afternoon and delicious afternoon tea! I will defiantly be back ��

The food was absolutely gorgeous, so touched by the cute little platter you prepared for my 4 year old daughter. “Mummy this food is so special!!!” Thank you to Jay for looking after us all and for making us feel so welcome and taken care of. You were absolutely fantastic with my little girl!! See you again soon for another gorgeous eve!

Christos makes the effort to find out what customers like and I was very touched that he remembered our Facebook chat about my love of rum prior to visiting with friends! We like to go as a special treat with friends and make an occasion of it as it can be a little pricey for regular visits. Best to book ahead as can get very busy, having the table waiter service just ensures you can really relax and enjoy yourself! Really pleased we have somewhere like this in Usk, just wish it was a little bit bigger to meet popular demand!!

I recently used The Mad Platter for a private fundraising event and was absolutely thrilled! Christos and his team made the evening so special from beginning to end. The welcome drink on arrival, special platters and a gift bag for each guest were fantastic, and the cocktail demo made the event extra special.



Many of the guests travelled to the venue from outside Monmouthshire and said they will be returning with family and friends - as will I!



If you are looking for your next event venue then look no further than the Mad Platter- thank you Christos! :)

Having heard about this place through instagram, my girlfriend and I decided to pop in for a platter after a weekend walk along the river. We got there for opening only to find that they had multiple afternoon teas booked in and so, for reasons I assume related to staffing (as it was only the husband and wife present, who was also looking after their two small children), we were told they were not able to provide the usual service. However, after discovering that we had travelled from Cardiff especially, we were kindly welcomed in. We went for the meat and cheese platter which was beautifully presented and went down a treat! Whilst we were there, we also saw the afternoon teas being brought out which looked amazing. The only downside was not being able to trial the vast selection of drinks they offer!



We were very impressed with the hospitality and food and will most certainly recommend. We will be back!

Had a fantastic afternoon tea. Lovely place, friendly and welcoming. On top of that the food was fantastic with an incredible array of drinks to go with... will definitely be coming back.

First visit on Wine Wednesday, had the wine and sharing platter. Lovely warm welcome, great service, wine and platter were excellent. Tried some different gins too very nice. Great live music. Will be visiting again very soon.

Can thoroughly recommend! Fantastic food, relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, topped off with friendly staff. We love our usual spot at the bar! What more could you ask for!?

Came with my friend for my bday on Monday. Drinks (gin) were amazing. Loved the "gin platter" and the Rhubarb Collins ... yummy!!. Staff were amazing. Seating very comfy and restrooms had everything any girl could need even hairspray and dry shampoo!! Fab fab fab. Cannot wait to come again.

Booked in for a Gin Masterclass for a party of 10. The table looked amazing, beautifully set to sample 3 different types of gin. Christos was really knowledgable and friendly. We all really enjoyed it, learnt a lot and from now on will be a bit more adventurous with our gin selections. We stayed on afterwards and shared some platters, which looked beautiful and tasted amazing. Thanks to the Mad Platter team for a brilliant night.

Booked a weekend lunch time table for my husband's birthday, called in advance because husband is veggie and I am vegan, second time we have eaten here and second time we have been thrilled with the food, once again they went out of their way to cater, this time we were served a Mediterranean platter full of gorgeous fresh vegetables, couscous and hummus along with breads, vinegar and oil, not to mention the delicious cocktails and tasty ales, friendly and attentive staff and a great vibe, we will be back 🍸🍺🍞🥘🥗
