Went there last night for a meal... Great food and service....

The staff make you very welcome and are friendly food is great and the breakfast was typically english which one couldnt fault. The bar was well furnished like the accommodation recommend anyone for b&b go to the marques .

Thanks to the host and staff of the Marquis for providing excellent service in lovely surroundings for our mother's 80th birthday family meal. All the food served was top quality and personally served to us by pleasant staff. Thank you all. I can highly recommend. 😊👍🏻

Lovely friendly staff, excellent food. Plenty of choice on the kids menu. Sun was shining so was lovely to sit outside for a few drinks + let the kids run around the lovely garden 😁

I've just return from travelling all over Normandy and parts of Brittany. I never stayed at anywhere remotely of the high standard that is constantly displayed at the Marquis - at half the price. The quality of the room was "top shelf." THe staff were engaging and professional. What with off street parking this place is absolutely first class!

I haven't been to the Marquis Inn in Aberdare for years, last night our FibroFriends support group had our Christmas meal there. It was beautiful, all 3 courses, and it all came out together so no one was waiting. 5 star sevice from the staff, we will be going there again in the future. I thought I'd post because people are quick enough to post bad reviews so give credit where it's due. Well done everyone at the Marquis and compliments to the Chef.

Had lunch at this inn Wednesday, first time to visit, lovely pub, with friendly staff and a great lunchtime menu, so reasonably priced for great service and lovely food. Would definitely revisit ��

Came last night with friends from Yorkshire. What a lovely night. Compliments to the chef as the food was excellent, entertainment funny as and staff.....well .... just excellent and polite, a credit to the establishment. Highly recommend here if you want a really good meal with reasonable prices..

Amazing place and relaxing and enjoyful, all staff very polite and helpful even helping my 9 year old with learning difficulties with the remote so Thank You, breakfast very nice and plenty of it, management very kind! Band was good too so Thank You will defo be visiting again. 5 star rating.

We went there to have a Sunday lunch yesterday and there were 34 of us.

Great service and great food, most of the children with didn't have Sunday dinner but all the food came out together, we all enjoyed and good price as well

Would recommend it anyday

There were 17 of us for birthday meal.

The meals were very good

Service was excellent

Live Enterainment was good fun.

2 minor issues run out of Jack. Saying that we were greedy buggers.

JPR was to strong for me.

Went there today ordered chicken curry , was very disappointed , the manager told me they would not be changing the menu , the chicken curry there was always stunning full of fresh chicken breast ,,,

Not only have they changed the curry sauce but the chicken was hard and tasted like chicken bites from a packet ,,, obviously a cheaper alternative to make maximum profit,,, I for I asked the waitress when did they change the curry she said 6 months ago ,,, during that time I've had scampi which was nice ,,, so thought today I'd have their chicken curry , wish I hadn't ,,, waisted my money today ,,, so disappointed ,,, won't be going back , if they say they are not changing the menu , don't change it ,,,

Went here in july for my son 18th birthday all i can say is disgusting . We had to wait nearly one and half hrs for food , then when it did arrive it was either still alive on your plate or cremated!! Never again .

Went here for Sunday lunch. Waited over 15 minutes for someone to come and take our order. The restaurant was extremely quite, only two other tables in, yet we still had to wait over 30 minutes for food. Food was not the best, meat very dry. Once we had finished waited over 10 minutes for someone to come and clear the table as all the staff were by the bar having a chat. They only came to clear the table as we moved all the dishes to the edge. When I say 'clear' I mean they took a few dishes and left the rest. We were not offered desserts but had to go and collect the menu ourselves. Waited another 10 minutes, no one came to take orders or clear the rest of the table. One of us went to ask the manager if we could make a dessert order, he turned away from us and started playing on his phone. We waited another 10 minutes with dirty dishes still on the table, manager still playing on his phone and staff still chatting and on phones by the bar. After which we decided to leave. I went to pay and asked to make a complaint. As I was talking to the waitress about what had happened it was clear she didn't care, she turned her back on me! The manager was the other side of the open door and so could have clearly heard what we were saying yet did not come over to say anything. Absolutely appalling place. Completely gone down hill since new management which is a shame because we use to like coming here. Will never be going back. If I could give 0 stars I would.

Staff were really friendly can't fault them for that. But apart from the lamb the food was awful! The gravy was Tasteless and watery. The table I was on finally managed to get their dinner about half hour or so after a majority of the other people we were with had eaten (I understand more food may have needed to be cooked as we were a big party, but no one came around to apologise for the delay) and then to add insult to injury I had a fly in my food (they got me a new one straight away) would not go there again.

Really disappointed in the hygiene standards here. Booked Sunday lunch but while waiting I saw a member of staff drop bread off a plate of prawns on the floor on the way to a table in the conservatory. She stopped put the plate on the bar that it fell off and picked the bread up, leaving both on the bar. She then returned and stood in the door way to the kitchen sneezing in her hands, without washing her hands returned to the bar popped the bread back on tbd plate then took it over to the table. I was disgusted.. My partner and daughter still ordered their lunch. But there was no way I was. What a shame as the lunch looked and smelt lovely. � If this is done openly in front of customers makes me wonder what happens in the kitchen.

I have to warn anyone booking a buffet here to be vary wary. My son and daughter in law booked a buffet for their sons birthday at a cost of £150 that was £7.50 a head for 20 people. The content for that was absolutely ludicrous. After complaining they did put a couple of tomatoes and extra nibbles and reimbursed them £30. This evidently showed they were ripping them off so think twice before booking
