Fantastic Fireworks to end another Llandrindod Wells Victorian Festival. Video from The 4th floor at The Metropole. Thank you to all those organising this great event for visitors and residents of Llandrindod to enjoy.

User

Yet another excellent stay here with the Porsche club. And again we were well looked after by all the staff. The food was as always excellent.

So good infact that all 22 of us stayed an extra night 🥂👍

User

We have eaten twice at the Metropole in recent weeks, a fantastic lunch on Remembrance Sunday in the restaurant, and our Just Move walk to run group presentation dinner last night in the ballroom. The food and service was excellent on both occasions. Thank you to the staff and to Justin and Judy for the warm welcome. Highly recommended.

User

Stayed here last night for a birthday treat for my other half (Had to rearrange initially and staff were lovely and accommodating). Room was lovely and comfortable. The food in the brassiere for lunch was excellent as was the 6 course taster menu. Spa facilities were spot on and staff were very pleasant. Wouldn't hesitate to stay again and been highly recommending it already 😊

User

Stayed 24th Nov 2017 for my wifes 40th birthday treat. Lovely hotel with lots of history. We like the information boards on the corridor wall by reception of the past history of the hotel. Room was good, clean and adequate. The spa was great! Nice clean changing rooms.

6 course tasting menu was WOW excellent! Ok its more expensive than you usual pub /restaurant but it top quality food and definitely worth the money. Breakfast was just as good. Pleanty of choice. All staff were great.

Thank you all for a lovely stay.

User

Second visit here with friends, taster menu superb. This family run hotel is just lovely, great value for money, comfortable rooms, well stocked bar and splendid food. Looking forward to going again.

User

One of the best hotels I know and we're lucky enough to have it in our own town! Comfortable, friendly staff, great food, fab facilities, what more could we wish for?

User

Mom and Dad paid for a weekend away with my husband for my 40th. Can’t fault anything about the Metropole hotel. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the rooms are lovely and maid service excellent. The food is just amazing and they even provided a 40 balloon and bottle of prosecco which Mom and Dad had arranged, they brought the bottle of prosecco to the table and then they sang happy birthday at the table with a muffin and candle to blow out it was so lovely 😊

User

Me and my friend stayed the weekend. Absolutely lovely, couldn’t fault anything. Staff were helpful and friendly, food was amazing. Room was lovely and clean. That good, booked again. Thank you.

User

Lovely hotel and spa. We joined the spa thus morning and think it’s really good value for money.

User

Lovely friendly staff .very clean hotel and atmosphere very welcoming. Food wow!! Excellent ! Would highly recommend😁

User

I just wanted to extend a huge thank you for our Stag and Hen Do meal. The use of the ballroom and bar was brilliant!

User

I have to say, Justin & his entire staff have made JackRabbit Rally feel extremely welcome for the last 2 years. The staff are so welcoming, polite & helpful, great hotel, food is beautiful, breakfast is laid back, and the food is so fresh!

Car parking is very ample.

Love this hotel, we would definitely recommend it to all 🐰🏁🏆💀

User

Took my parents there for lunch for their birthdays. Lovely hotel, clean and tidy. Receptionist was welcoming and walked us through to the restaurant bar where a male member then welcomed us before taking us to our reserved table. Lovely food and a very good sized portion (mine could have done with being a little hotter), the only thing that let it down was the very slow table service. We sat for over 20mins with our dirty plates on the table before my Mother had to get up and ask for our table to be cleared and the dessert menu. As the service was really slow they only score 4 stars!

User

Stayed last night. Wonderful Gourmet 6 coarse dinner very good breakfast excellent service staff very friendly. Will be back again. All perfect. Thank you

User

Stayed here last night with work. My room was lovely and clean but due to the poor quality of the duvet, pillows and mattress I didn't get a very good night's sleep. However the three-course meal last night was delicious, the staff were all lovely and our meeting room was comfortable with a delicious lunch provided on both days.

User

Just returned from a stay with my husband for our anniversary. The food at lunchtime and breakfast was really good, our 6 course evening meal was outstanding, absolutely beautiful food. Our room was nice, not the biggest Superior room I have ever stayed in so probably wouldn’t upgrade again but was very comfy and clean. The stay was let down by the spa, had tried booking treatments prior to our stay to be told it was fully booked yet we got to the spa and at one point we were the only people in there so unsure how it was fully booked. Spa facilities are limited, as are the seating areas around to relax. Wasn’t offered dressing gowns and even had to ask for towels. But would definitely return to this hotel again if only for the amazing food and very comfy bed.

User

Housekeeping were amazingly helpful as I asked for a double not a twin room and they came immediately and joined the beds together and brought extra pillows as I need to sleep sitting up...I asked for extra hot chocolate for use in the room I don’t like tea or coffee and they happily brought more and told me to ring them if I needed even more! I need an accessibly room but they’re all upstairs so if there’s a fire and the lift is not in service then I’d be stuck upstairs..‘this is obviously a concern for further booking....only one thing I was disappointed with was the fact that they use frozen chips...I had fish and chips for tea which was around £15 that’s a lot if you’re being served frozen chips..I can have them any day at home and eating out should be special and different from what you have at home...

User

We had a luxury tower room which was lovely, and I chose this hotel for the Spa facilities which were great. Most of the staff were very pleasant and helpful. My main criticism would be the food which was very ordinary. I had booked a wine and dine experience, having read the description of the 'most superb fine dining establishment' on the website. Regrettably this was far from the case, we ordered prawn cocktail which was a pile of luke warm prawns on a bed of very ordinary lettuce served in a soup bowl, very dull in appearance and taste. We then decided to pay the supplement and have the steak and the lamb chops, when my husband asked what sauce the steak came with he was told "bread with herb". Confused he asked if he could have pepper sauce, and when he asked what sides were served and told salad he asked if he could have vegetables instead, at this point one of the staff, who wasn't actually serving us, appeared to become annoyed with our requests. That member of staff then brought our wine and asked my husband if he would like to taste it, and when he said "I'm sure it's fine", she said "it will be!" in a most abrupt manner. As I didn't mind if I had salad or vegetables with my lamb I decided not to cause any more aggravation by asking, but when my lamb chops arrived with new potatoes I waited 10 minutes and then asked a waiter if I could have a side order of something green. I'm afraid I can't eat a large plate of meat without any salad or vegetables and it seems nothing was on its way. The waiter kindly bought me some leeks, in a rather salty sauce, and steamed broccoli. The meat was very tender and tasty, as were the new potatoes, but it seams these meals are not served with a side order of vegetables, which are also not available to order separately on the menu. I then ordered a rhubarb and raspberry frangipane which was nice, but my husband had cheese and biscuits. The staff didn't know where the cheese came from despite the website declaring they 'source organic local produce' (they didn't taste particularly artisan) and were served with Jacobs biscuits. Sorry, the meal was not the 'delightful dining experience' advertised on the website. Breakfast was a very pleasant buffet and the service was good. Overall I would say we had a good stay, hence the 3 star rating, but the dinner was nowhere near the calibre promoted on the website.

User

Stayed there last night with my wife as a late anniversary stay. When on the way to our room the corridor smelt of cigarette smoke and the room was cold. That evening and the following morning the guests staying in the room next to us either didn't care about anyone else or didn't realise that there dog was barking. Don't think we would stay again after a second bad experience.
