Great pub, friendly staff and dogs allowed. Had a fantastic Sunday roast

Quiet on Sunday nights but very comfortable. Smaller menu than during week. Good food.

Loved this place. Fabulous food and amazing decor but... shower head could do with a descale and our room overlooked the road so quite a lot of traffic noise

User

Very historic inn! Upscale & renovated room was above pub. Beautiful room however very small & compact... shoebox style. Ladies take note... the bathroom in these rooms are not meant for ladies. They are definitely a bathroom designed for gents. The shower is very tiny & God help you if you need to wash your hair. There is a water saving feature on the shower head & consequently little to no water pressure. So unless you have a brush cut which I don't, it will take you approximately 25 minutes to get the shampoo & conditioner out of your hair. Now...let's move on to the razor... don't even attempt it unless you wish to risk slicing your legs/underarms to bits! There is virtually no shelf space in or out of the shower, so be prepared to have your toiletries on the floor. Be careful brushing your teeth as there is a small glass shelf housing the small bars of soap, inn toiletries & glasses directly above the taps. So when you bend over the sink to rinse your mouth, you will smash your forehead into the shelf. To say the water pressure in the sink is forceful would be a masterpiece of understatement. Be extra cautious when turning on the taps as your clothing will get soaked if you are not careful. The room itself is beautiful with exposed barn board beams, etc...but I never thought I would say this (being a woman) but the room is beautiful but highly impractical. If you choose to stay here, try to book a room at the back of the inn because we were located in Room 4 which was on the road side & it was very, very noisy. We were unable to keep windows open due to noise. Food in the restaurant for supper & breakfast was quite good. Lots of flies though because windows are open. Good Luck 🍀

Really over priced food. Tastes great though. We booked for a special occasion as they advertised there would be a musician on. We turned up for the meal to find it had all been cancelled and they didn't bother telling us, despite having our phone number. We didn't stay - went to the pub down the road. Not impressed. One positive is that the owners change frequently, so will wait till this lot are gone before I return.

Only had coffee there which was very nice. The bar area very contemporary but cosy. Was hoping to have some food but they weren't doing anything at 11am
