The Old Barn Inn

Ignored on arrival. Whilst waiting at bar to be served a customer walked in behind me and was served without staff asking if I was waiting. Was finally shown to my seat and staff walked off without taking drinks order. I had to go and find someone to take my food and drink order. 15 mins after being seated drinks were finally brought to us and it wasn't a busy night.
The only thing that salvaged the evening was the excellent quality of the food which turned up hot and in 20 mins from ordering.

I have stayed here with work a few times and would happily stay again. The rooms are nice and cleen they offer a good breakfast and the restaurant / bar offers great food

We were a party of 14. We were seated up in the balcony area. We had pre-ordered our food. We waited a considerable time for anyone to take our drinks order. The starters arrived but 2 children's meals were forgotten and only delivered when the rest of us had finished ours. The mains arrived not too long after. Then we waited ages for someone to clear plates and offer dessert menus. We had to go and ask someone to bring them. The food was ok. Service was poor. We arrived for 5 pm and finally left at about 8 pm. The staff were very pleasant but seemed to forget we were there. Maybe because we were up in the balcony and were the only table up there. The restaurant was fairly busy.

Sunday lunch quite ordinary, and service speed was inconsistent​ in the restaurant. Accommodation shows the propietor has style and good taste. Decor is dignified without being snooty. The bar was comfortable: the bitter was very good once it had time to get up to the proper temperature. Some staff were friendly, others were simply efficient.
Would I return? Yes, because on balance this is a place worthy of being saved in my satnav.

The room was lovely, food was nice, beer was good and the staff were great. They helped me look when my wife lost her phone and gave me something to clean permanent marker off my sons arm. Couldn't recommend this place and the staff enough.

It was frantically busy with a wedding, but we were well looked after by the staff and enjoyed a lovely meal. Good menu. Not too expensive for what it is.

Always great service and a warm welcome. Food is very nice and not too expensive.

Always a friendly atmosphere and staff members. Attended 2 wedding partys there and enjoyed both evenings.

Great food, great service, small issue with the room, but got sorted with no problems, we'll worth the stay for the food alone.
