I do love a quirky spoons and yes, this is a quirky spoons. Staff went above and beyond. Locals were loud and intrigued by us out of towners.

Great pub... the lower and upper circles are still as they were with the seats in place. Great decor and the usual wetherspoons service makes for a great experience.

Great location in what appears to be an old theatre. The meal I had was a mix grill that was cooked to the way I like. Time of the Real Ale Festival so had a good selection of guest beers.

Not the best. Food left under hot light before severing think are food must of been there a good 20 mins before we got it. We had jacket potato and a chicken rap. The rap was very dry and hard. And the beans on the jacket where dry and the salad was hot. It was busy at the time but the palladium looked dirty and run down. Same as the staff

A large JD Wetherspoons which was really busy on our visit. Seemed under staffed at the bar which took a while to get served and when we ordered food we were advised of a 25 minute wait for food. (Thankfully this ended up being about only 15). The food was the usual no thrills but tasty and we'll priced fayre and the usual excellent choice of drinks.
NOTE. The toilets are up several flights of stairs so if you're not good on your legs plan to pee elsewhere.
The building is an old theatre and has loads of character (and judging by the state of the loos in need of some updating or at least a thorough clean).

Worth a visit and great value for money.

Amazing conversion of former theatre by Wetherspoons. Range of drinks and food is standard good value Wetherspoons fair

We love going to Wetherspoons. However, we arrived on holiday midweek at 7:30pm Chose something that we looked forward to from the menu, only to find out it had run out. My wife chose the red wine, and this has run out too. Disappointing as this was my treat for my wife on our anniversary. Found a space near a window which was nicely quiet. Unfortunately had to cope with the smell of those who came to smoke just the other side of the glass.

Barely warm food. Chicken that tough you needed a steak knife to cut it with. Glass of fizzy pop with more ice than drink. Empty tables waiting to be cleaned throughout duration of meal. Tables that had been cleaned still looked in need of cleaning. Toilets accessed by three flights of stairs. No sign of any disabled toilets. Would only recommend it as somewhere to get out of the weather on a very rainy day.

I used to go the palladium when it was a theatre. Wetherspoons have done a nice job of renovating this historic building but it's just... well kind of weird.

Huge open area akin to a prison and no atmosphere. Just didn't work for me. Friendly staff and great history to the building. Expect an open plan ranch style experience.
