We were on holiday on the Island for two weeks and this pub was only a 10 minute walk from where we were staying. We used it a few times and it was very nice the beer garden out the back was excellent and the beer nice. The staff were also very friendly and helpful. Great country pub

We went here for my sons 23rd b day

Only been here once before the food was great then and is amazing now consistent balanced food

The chefs here know their stuff

My fav Gastro pub on the iow by far

We had incredible seafood chowder

Make sure you book in evenings and early lunchtimes as even in mid winter 7 days a week it’s fully booked such is their rep

Tbh it's much more than pub grub and the owner Rachel is a brilliant host. Rectified a minor problem professionally and promptly.

Visited last night with my husband and a friend. Had the Newchurch pie as usual as did my husband. It was absolutely fantastic , never had a better pie anywhere . It was mouthwatering, my friend is a vegetarian and tried the feta cheese and spinach pie with filo pastry . She said it was the best food she had eaten on her trip to the Isle of Wight . We had puddings too which were equally amazing. The staff were great , friendly and helpful . All in all a great night . Will definitely be back

Very friendly, helpful staff. Lovely large beer garden and superbly dog friendly - at the back of the garden is a field where the dogs can run free. The food is excellent - we had Newchurch pie, which came with lovely fresh veg, and Chicken and Ham Hock pie - both were delicious. The loos were clean (always feel the state of a pub’s loo is reflective on their general standards!). Thoroughly recommended.

The best meal out I have had for years! We will definitely be going back. Thank you xx

Stayed on the CC club site just up the road and tried a few in the area. Although we ate well at the other local pubs this was something extra. Lovely fresh ingredients, quick service and plenty on the plate. You must try it...you won’t be disappointed.

Looked packed upon our arrival, but found us a table with a window seat.

Service warm, friendly, but professional.

Food well presented and very enjoyable. The Grill was just too much.

Been on the island 3 years, but first visit. Unfortunately for us we are making a permanent move back to the mainland in the next couple of weeks, but we will return, if we are in the area. �

Just went there for the first time the food was so yummy and the pudding amazing the staff were lovely and the atmosphere was so relaxing can't wait to go again very happy highly recommend

I just want to say I took my good wife to the pointer inn on the 15th September it was our wedding anniversary & I wasn't disappointed we had the fillet steak it was lovely & tasty best steak I've had in yrs the food was cooked to perfection the staff were very friendly we will definitely going there for a meal again either with friends or on our own so glad we went to that pub to spend our wedding anniversary day.

I find myself going here often. The food is simply amazing the team that work there are friendly and work hard to make your visit great every time. The prices are also competitive and definitely worth it

Called in to find all the tables fully booked . But the lovely girls let us use a table till it's booked time was up. Waited on us , made us feel really welcome . Lovely food , lovely staff , 3 happy customers . Thank you �

After trying at least 4 pubs, we were told to try the pointer, what a gem. Just managed to get in at 8 ish, chicken new yorker and special burger, top nosh no kidding.

We tried to book for the following night but as we had prior arrangments, 6 was a bit too early for us. But hay next time we visit iow we will be there. If you visit iow anytime

Do Not miss this place, but make sure you book very early. Thanks for allowing us the experience. X
