Went to see Paddington 2 for my 40th birthday with our 2 young daughters. Well worth the trip from Llanrhaeadr so pleased we chose to go here instead of one of the big cinemas. We’ll definitely be back.

Well have just read the appalling review. My take is its a local cinema with all the latest films. Helpful and friendly staff topped off with an enjoyable and affordable experience. If you want to drive for nearly an hour (more depending on traffic) Pay twice as much and drive nearly an hour home feel free but I am delighted to have this wonderful resource called the regent cinema on my doorstep. job well done.

This is a great little Cinema, friendly staff and fab prices. Such a shame they had to close the Welshpool one. Much better than travelling all the way to Shrewsbury and paying high prices to see a film ( then having to pay extortionate prices for refreshnents). Will be coming to Newtown cinema more often in future. But advise you to book for popular films... particularly on cheap Mondays � �

Staff are very friendly , brilliant local cinema right in the centre of town wouldn't go anywhere else.

Most Amazing atmosphere in Newtown on a Saturday night! I came with my mother to enjoy Andre Ruie in concert live streamed from his home town myself my mother and the audience loved it and cannot wait for the next one! Well done To hard and Team Regent

Just like to say that I visited the cinema for the first time on Monday after living in the area for the last 5 years and can’t believe I haven’t been here before! I was so impressed with it that I won’t be traipsing over to Shrewsbury again! And it’s cheaper than Meerkat Movies any day of the week!!

I had also booked tickets to visit again today but my friend unfortunately was taken poorly and so I contacted the cinema via email and the Facebook messenger and they responded really quickly and agreed to refund me the tickets. Super impressed with the whole thing and can’t praise them enough! Thank you Regent Team!

Just keeps getting better and better. Latest films, very friendly staff, superb sound and all at a reasonable rate.

Had my first experience of the Newtown Cinema last night for Star Wars, after only recently moving to the area. We were hugely impressed with the Cinema, with a great friendly service, a nicely laid out room, with comfortable & supportive seats (the first time in many years I've come away without aching parts!), the screen size whilst not the largest is spot on for the size of the room, and the sound is by far the best I've experienced at a cinema for over a decade. Finally there's the ticket price, the same showing last night at the VUE cinema we used to go to was £11+, so to get all of this for £5 is simply amazing. We've all said that we will definitely be going again & more often!

Great little independent Cinema in the heart of Newtown. Gets all the big films first, including a fantastic midnight launch of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Second screen is a little small, but for the low price of £5 (£3.50 on Cheap Mondays) you can't go wrong.

First visit to the Regent, Newtown yesterday. Very friendly helpful staff, comfortable seats, no problem with view of the screen even for children and a bigger screen than I had expected. Great value for money compared to the big cinema chains.

A great family run cinema. I made a mistake with my booking this week but it was easily rectified by the manager. Thank you Richard.

My children have Bern bugging me to watch the Smurfs for 2 weeks, and after looking at different venues including my local cinema (10 miles away), the Regent was the only one that had the film at a decent time and good prices.

Really enjoyed the new Avengers film tonight, but it was tainted by the really quiet sound. This was most annoying particularly when the characters were speaking, and at points you couldn’t hear what was said. I thought it may be my hearing, but I could hear the sound of every food packet rustling louder than the film!! I had never had this problem before my last couple of visits (Ready Player One was also the same), so hopefully the management will look at the sound quality.

Saturday night. Dunkirk and Planet of the Apes on. Two screens. What do you do. Shunt Dunkirk onto a screen size of a Gameboy in a room the size of Fiat. I was among the many turned away with a new found respect for Netflix and dvd rentals. Awful businesses decision. Did Newtown cinema really have to live stream a classical concert from Holland in the biggest movie week of the year!! Undeserving of even a star.
