The Museum has recently started to sell an annotated copy of the South Wales Borderers 7th BattalionŌĆÖs war diary, covering the period from September 1915 to October 1919. It contains information that provides extra context to the BattalionŌĆÖs activities at this time, like maps and historical detail from other sources. ItŌĆÖs been prepared by a good friend of the Museum, Viv John, and costs ┬Ż6.

The Regimental Museum Of The Royal Welsh The Museum has recently noticed that a lot of the information about us supplied by searches on Google and Bing is totally wrong! Bing still thinks weŌĆÖre the South Wales Borderers Museum (our name changed to The Regimental Museum of The Royal Welsh in 2007), while Google always gets our opening hours wrong (they canŌĆÖt cope with seasonal hours for some reason).
We realise this must be very confusing for everyone who wants to find out mor...e about the Museum before visiting. Although we have a website that obviously provides correct information, it is easy to understand why someone viewing the results of a search would assume the unofficial details provided by Microsoft or Google are correct. WeŌĆÖve tried to change the information they have about us (most of which theyŌĆÖve made up), but our approaches to them are ignored. This is just as frustrating for the Museum, as it drives traffic away from our website where visitors can get accurate answers to any questions they may wish to ask.
The MuseumŌĆÖs website can be found here, and itŌĆÖs great! www.royalwelsh.org.uk

We thought we'd pay our own tribute to Geraint Thomas' amazing achievement.

One of the Museum's celebrity friends, Chris Packham, recently provided the voice over for a short publicity video. This is a link to the relevant YouTube web page: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hlmmDLBk7 gU&app=desktop.
Chris has long been fascinated by the Anglo-Zulu War of 1879, and was very happy to lend his support to the project. Please view the footgae and let us have your feedback!
The Museum is also very grateful to Nigel Evans for his skillful filming and editing.

On 24th May, the Museum played host to Mr. Jim Morgan, a veteran of the D-Day landings, and his family. The purpose of the visit was for Mr. Morgan to be presented with the medals he so bravely earned on 6th June 1944.
Mr. Morgan was a member of the 2nd Battalion South Wales Borderers, and was in the second wave of the men who landed on Gold Beach during the assault. He almost drowned as he made his way from the troop ship to the shore, but he was pulled from the water by one... of his officers.
The first image shows Mr. Morgan being presented with the medals by Dame Shân Legge Bourke, the Lord Lieutenant of Powys. The second shows Mr. Morgan and his wife flanked by from left to right Tony Prynne of the Builth Wells British Legion and Museum volunteer, Dame Shân and Colonel Timothy J. Van-Rees, vice-chair of the Museum's board of Trustees.
The Museum is grateful to all concerned for making the event such a special one!
