We visited the Royal Oak today at lunchtime. So nice to get out of the cold rain into a comfortable room with a log fire and excellent Monty's beer. Our collie puppy was made very welcome and didn't want to leave.

Smiles all around From arrival to departure, this was a well organised and happy stay. Efficient service on all levels with staff engaged and polite at all times. All staff had smiles on their faces which was reflected in the cosy and friendly overnight stay. Thoroughly recommend.< br> WEEKEND STAY Stayed for the weekend, excellent place to stay, excellent, helpful staff, stayed in the Queen Elizabeth suite, which was absolutely fabulous, very nice bar, but very busy on the Saturday, food in the restaurant was excellent! Would definitely stay here again and would certainly recommend it!
Very nice hotel, lovely staff. The Royal Oak is right in the middle of the town. It has a large secure car park at the back which is great because although the town has lots of car parks they are all chargeable. It has comfortable and well appointed bars and restaurant areas downstairs. Our room (210) was large and nicely furnished with a lovely, good sized en suite which had recently been refurbished to a very high standard. Lots of nice complementary chocolates, biscuits, toiletries etc provided in the room. They provide an excellent breakfast with the hot 'full Welsh' stuff provided in help yourself buffet style. The hot breakfast ingredients were all good quality, very nice! The staff were welcoming, friendly and very helpful and deserve special commendation, they were lovely. .

Lovely meal with great friends Went Friday night with friends had a lovely meal we all enjoyed it. Had the chicken kebab the chicken was lovely then had sticky toffee pudding and custard last time i had that here i got addicted to it lol yummy. Waiting on staff were great love Natalia she's a great waitress and had a joke with her. Thanku royal oak for another great service and food

Whilst visiting Wales, six of us went for a meal on a Friday evening in mid October. The food was presented beautifully and delicious. All of the staff were polite and very helpful. We all thoroughly enjoyed our evening, Many thanks. Highly Recommended.

The guests had a enjoyable day, the food was amazing, the waiting staff very professional, which made everything a most relaxing experience

We stopped for Sunday lunch,while passing through, it was superb! Excellent service, the food was delicious and we were served promptly. Will definitely be calling in again!

We stayed in the superior room and it was a lovely room and spotlessly clean and well decorated. All the staff were friendly and efficient. Could not fault it.

We met up with friends on Sunday for lunch. The atmosphere was lovely. They were very accommodating as we'd got children with us and they were decorating the Christmas tree and asked if they'd like to help.. Thank you.

We had our wedding reception here 13/10/18 and couldn't of wished for any better, Laura and Beth have been fabulous throughout the planning, very flexible options and the Powys suit is just stunning when set up, food was excellent I didn't hear 1 bad complaint from our guests, all staff were lovely and nothing was too much trouble for them, rooms clean and very comfortable, thank you so much to you all for making our day special Jo&adam Dyas

Lovely room, great extras (iron and board, hair dryer, fan if needed, biscuits and bottled water, friendly and helpful staff, quick check in and out, car park, great location and fantastic full-English). Oh yeah, Grade 2 listed building too! Need O stay more - go there and enjoy the experience!!!!

Stayed 16th April for 1 night first little holiday for our 6 month old bubba, back to partners home town for little one to see his Grandad for the very first time. Excellent hotel, lovely room with cot all set up, excellent breakfast, lovely staff and perfect location will definitely be staying again. Thank you :)

I phoned to book a table this morning and was greeted by a lovely member of staff who got me a table by the window for tonight �, when the time came,we were greeted by staff who were courteous and professional,we ordered a grazing/sharer starter which is £4:99 each or 3 for £11 so we choose 3 off the menu,(garlic mushrooms/chicken tikka bites/goats cheese. They were cooked beautifully,next we had the Lamb main and the Hanging chicken kebab with salad/chips and an extra of onion rings,again beautifully cooked and way too much to finish off. Would highly recommend eating here �

Hiccup on arrival which was swiftly sorted. Great feel to the bar/lounge area, best chips ever. Comfortable rooms, all staff were very friendly & helpful. Lovely function room, fab buffet, DJ was excellent Would stay again & I'd recommend.

Excellent!!! Been here 4 times now and everything from service to food was great, menu has good selection reasonably priced, dining room is atmospheric and plush without being over the top and it's very child friendly - would definitely recommend this despite what other reviews may state!

Absolutely love the re-furbished Royal Oak, food & staff great, but why, oh why, have you stopped serving maltesers with coffee, soo disappointed today when we didnt get them !

I have been to the hotel through work the room is excellent friendly staff and good range of breakfast will definitely recommend this
