Hi Folks. Just to say we are still looking for a suitable place in Ruthin. Seem to be a bit thin on the ground! If anybody knows of any place that is available or might be available coming up soon get in contact. Cheers The Hoptimist Team

Sorry it’s been a bit quiet!
Well it’s some bad news folks, the planning committee have said we have to do an acoustics test due to “noise concerns”. We have submitted decibel readings from other micro pubs when they were busy but it did not cut the mustard! Unfortunately the acoustic test costs upwards of £2000 and then we would have to sound proof the whole shop. This puts it out of our budget range.
However is does not mean that this project is dead in the water, we are... committed to finding a place in Ruthin so if anyone knows of any suitable spaces available or coming up please get in contact.
Cheers The Hoptimist Team

Hi Folks, sorry it’s gone a bit quite. We are just waiting for a planning meeting in October. Until then we need to sit on our hands about it.
However if you didn’t know we will be opening The Hoptimism Abergele in a few weeks so stay tuned as more information will follow very soon.
Has anyone got any ideas on where would also be a good place for a micro pub in North Wales?
... Cheers The Hoptimism Team

Good new folks, Denbighshire County Council has issued The Hoptimist in Ruthin with a premises license! We would like to thank everyone for the kind support given. I think they were quite taken a back when we handed them a wad of paper with all your positive comments on it. Now the next step is Planning with a change of use needed, wish us luck! Cheers The Hoptimist Team

466 followers and such great comments! Wow, but is this enough to convince Denbighshire Council Licensing Committee in 61 hours time? We really don’t know.........but we damn well hope so! All your great vibes and comments are spurring us on, keep the comments coming and sharing our posts. The more people we have on board the more leverage we have to get this project moving forward.
PLEASE SHARE THIS POST, COMMENT AND TAG YOUR FRIENDS IN......cheers from the Hoptimist Team
PS....If you have friends in the Abergele area there may be a certain place called “The Hoptimist Abergele” opening in a few weeks time, shhhhh!

Many thanks for the support on this facebook page! It is truly humbling some off the comments.... On the 20th August at 10:30am we face the Denbighshire licensing board to hopefully approve the license for The Ruthin Hoptimist. We need your help! We are up to 383 followers but we need more, more I say! We need to get this out there to everyone, we need you to tag in all your friends, start a conversation and get some positive vibes going! We would love to go to this meeting with a huge ground swell of followers and show them Ruthin needs a place with quality locally sourced beer and gin. Cheers Doug, Sue and Richard

So it’s Friday night. Imagine a small cosy pub with no jukeboxes, no distracting TVs, no generic mass produced rubbish beverages, no alcopops and no blaring music. That’s a micropub.
Let the old art of conversation flow, tag in those people who you would take out for a cracking pint of locally brewed beer or locally distilled gin (maybe even some locally sourced pork scratchings?).
We are up and over 300 followers, but hey we want more. Go on tag them in! Share share share!

Welcome to all our new followers, we need your help. Please share our Facebook page. Tag in those beer loving friends and let’s get this page rocking. Your support is needed so we can present a positive united front to a Denbighshire Council Planning Committee for change of use for the micropub.
Stay tuned!
