Very good food. Friendly helpful staff and lovely interesting decor. Great log fire. I was warm for the first time since Saturday. Thank you.

Get friendly staff couldn't be more helpful super quick service. Nice atmosphere vegetarian selection was very good, with some unusual options. Fish selection was excellent would recommend a visit.

Excellent vegetarian options, served with mountains of chips and vegetables. Better quality food than The Castle (and a much better hygiene rating). Mrs G had the fish and is still raving about it. We are upstairs, which was nice and quiet, but it did mean the service was a touch sluggish. We didn't really mind, as it was raining.

Came on the off chance of a table and managed to get in
Sensible selection of food and a specials board. Very well kept real ales with some changing local ales. Food very good and staff very friendly.

We were there for only about an hour, but they managed to charge me for an extra pint of Guinness, and for a different bottle of wine on the bill...
More worryingly, my wife is allergic to peppers, and was emphatic in this to the waitress... Her starter arrived 5 minutes later with a good topping of peppers on the salad.. The second waitress was quick to replace the salad with a freshly prepared one.. but this was a serious lapse.. also I ordered my fresh fish starter off the specials board, but 5 minutes later the waitress returned to say it was unavailable, so I had to settle for standard battered calamari...
Doubtful we will be back...

Very nice pub with good food reasonably priced. Nice range of real ales on tap. Good atmosphere with mixture of locals and visitors. Worth a visit.

Managed to find us a table on a busy Friday and produce an excellent meal from a varied menu focused on fish. Service good and quick. Will use again.
