Mobile Cocktail Bar

My fancy drink fascination stems from my childhood; a sneaky sip of Mum’s Babycham from its saucer shaped glass with the cute springing deer logo, my Nanna’s creamy Advocaat, and festive Snowballs at Christmas…. as a Seventies child growing up in rural Wales, these things were exciting, trust me!
As a teenager, my Father’s job allowed us an annual trip to the Ideal Home show in London where I longed to sit at the cocktail bar stands, with their amazingly colourful array of straws and cocktail pics. It must have cost my parents a small fortune on mocktails, just so I could collect all the newest accessories. At home, I would spend hours arranging different shape and sized glasses on my shelves, dressing them with mini heart stickers and my new accessories before a ‘photo shoot’. I have always loved to let my imagination run wild, especially as a teen!
In the late 80s, I worked in the most modern, up to date bar that Pembrokeshire had ever seen. Hooters was THE place to go; a colourful splash of fun complete with high tech lighting and 80s beats. It was a huge success, fuelled by popular culture like the Tom Cruise cult film ‘Cocktail’. Set in America and tropical Jamaica, this movie even inspired my daughter Coral’s name!
Time went on, my children grew up, my interests changed…apart from my love of a glamorous cocktail and I have always enjoyed any opportunity to have one. Being involved in local charity the Ladies Circle, I have hosted many cocktail parties as fundraisers, and helping a friend run a local cocktail bar during the Summer gave me a taste for more. Professionally, my company Make it Pretty has been in the wedding business for a decade, and viola – an old passion and a new direction have come together. Incorporating my love of V W Campervans, weddings and cocktails, Shake it Pretty was born! A quirky mobile cocktail service with a kitsch, retro vibe. Think feathers, fringes, flamingos, flowers, sparkles, theatre and pineapples, along with a photo opportunity chaise for selfie fun. Shake it Pretty serves up cocktail magic from various trolleys, creating the perfect cocktail supping area for your (fabulous) event.
