Had a very nice lunch here last wednesdsy ffriendly staff nice dinning room will certanly come here again

The Slate has had an excellent makeover. Went for lunch today in the bar area with friends, nice atmosphere with lovely staff, and most of us enjoyed the food, I certainly did.
The one thing lacking was a middle of the range affordable lunch menu serving cooked food, but I for one would certainly go again.

Came here for an overnight stay while visiting the University for open day.
I stay in a lot of hotels but these are the friendliest staff I've ever met. Very accomodating.
The room was clean and comfortable.
No complaints.
If ever in Bangor again I will definitely be staying here again.

Great black pudding. Well thought out refurbishment, best place around for a meal. Very helpful and friendly staff.

We were recommended this restaurant by the owners of the cottage we were staying in and we weren't disappointed. The staff were friendly, welcoming and professional, the menu was appealing and fairly priced, the food was delicious and the drinks selection was excellent. The house wine by the glass was particularly good value. We ate here twice and wouldn't hesitate to visit again, if only we didn't live so far away.

Lovely atmosphere and really good food

Mixed review from me; we had a tasty Sunday lunch and the female bar staff was so lovely and helpful, but the man behind the bar (i'm assuming the owner) was rude on several occasions, and seemed annoyed we were there at all.
