The Snowdonian Description
North Wales is blessed with five distinct geographic areas of outstanding natural beauty. The region is known predominantly for the Snowdonia National Park, a mountainous area that includes Snowdon, the highest mountain in England and Wales. Beyond Snowdonia, North Wales boasts Anglesey (an island off the North Wales coast offering rugged coastal scenary and sandy beaches), the Llyn Peninsula (a remote area with beautiful coastal scenery), the Clwydian Hills (a walkers paradise), and lastly the Dee estuary (a large tidal estuary that is an internationally recognise bird breeding grounds).
