The Starling Cloud

It was convenient due to the location but not impressed with the food. Between a table of four, the burgers were dry, the pie was ok, the scampi and chips were very dull and not a meals worth on the plate and the hash was nice but needed something to go with it. For over £10 a head we expected to.atleast not be placed by the screeming kids

The dinner we had there was fairly priced and very good. The drinks, although on the higher end of pricing we're still ok. The service there was again good but nothing special. There is a friendly atmosphere there to compliment your food and a park for the children to play on.

I love the ease of booking and the fact that once I have checked in, I am in a completely different building to the pub and hence pub noise is not an issue. I have used this place for years and have not been disappointed. It's an inn, not a 5* hotel, but the price reflects that. Very comfy bedrooms.

Stayed the night in the adjacent hotel. Had a brilliant night sleep. The breakfast was very tasty. Expecially the breakfast stack. Would definitely recommend.

Nice place to stay just close enough to get around. Good prices food. Rooms very nice but there was no draw space in our room and only one socket but the bed is very comfy. Nice breakfast just had to wait a little because of staff training .

This place is tailored to families with children. Nice enough if you like rotisserie pub grub. It's probably a bit too busy to have a quiet, grown-ups only meal. The service is really good.

You can't go wrong with 2 meals for £10! The food was tasty and hot, the staff were friendly and helpful... Not overly speedy but it was busy

5th I have visited and have always thought it was amazing. But you have really let yourselves down. Half of the food I wanted to order was not available. My daughter has asked for the pizza 5 times now ans you have never had it available. I suggest you take it off the menu. It took 25 minutes for our drinks to be brought to the table. 2 hours and still no food

After visiting The Starling Cloud on a number of occasions we were very disappointed with our meal yesterday. My husband's mixed grill included a very under cooked piece of gammon and my steak which came after the other three meals for our table was well done instead of medium rare as asked for and the plate was missing the rocket leaves. On arrival I was ignored at the door for seating by at least three people so we sat down. We could immediately see tables that had not been cleared, chairs that had been placed at other tables not tidied away and altogether not a good experience. Thankfully my childrens' two meals were fine. We will not be going back.
