What a lovely establishment this is. A clean friendly pub which serves high quality meals, coupled with helpful and friendly staff made our experience a memorable one.

Stayed here on the 8th till 10th of March and we had a double room. The room was nice and clean and the beds were comfy.



We ate in the pub and the staff were very friendly and the food was delicious.

Recently stayed for 10 nights whilst away with work.

The room was nice and clean, comfy beds and the food was good too.

Most recent being a group of around 12 of us including children for a Mother’s Day meal

The food was lush the service and the staff were amazing

Used the Starling Cloud as a stop over on a trip to North Wales this weekend. Rooms were v.clean, comfortable and cool with great air con. Eat in restaurant on the Friday night (6 × guests). All of us thoroughly enjoyed the food and service was ok. Tasty, presented ok and did not have to wait too long. Waitress was very helpful and attentive to us. Then had breakfast in the morning and again all good.

The only issue was there were some flies about, but it was very hot night and all the doors were open. The eating area could do with a bit of a clean but generally all ok for the price you are paying.

Stayed 1 night room clean and spacious easy check in evening meal very good breakfast was lovely good choice and when we checked out we were allowed to park there until we left later in the day �

Second time we've visited this pub. Great family pub, friendly staff and clean / tidy. Good Vegan choices (even for children). Children's portions are very generous. Would strongly recommend and would visit again when next in the area.

Me and my partner had food here last night. Staff were very friendly, and checked how our meal was and when we were paying, checked again if we had enjoyed. The place was clean, the food was all well and presented nicely.

Food and staff were lovely; only issue was that the pulled chicken salad was actually a chicken breast salad . Still really tasty but not what I thought.

Went for meal last night. We rarely go out and thought we'd give this a go despite friends feedback. My dinner was served luke warm with a plain watery sauce rather than the creamy sauce described. My husband asked for a "medium" steak and it was blue raw in the middle, with alot of fat. My daughter's burger was burnt on outside, same with my son's burger and undercooked in the middle. I thought kitchens are meant to check temperatures of food with probes for health standards. Theyd run out of half of the puddings on the menu as well as Sunday dinners at 6pm. Apart from the friendly staff we will be giving this place a miss and would have rather stayed home. Food is bland. The problem is alot of food is frozen and is not cooked through when microwaved. Food needs to be checked before serving and piping hot please!

We were in Starling Cloud yesterday for a friends birthday. Had a lovely meal and the kids enjoyed playing in the park outside. However, two of the older children 11 and 16 wanted a mocktail but they needed ID to have one?? They were very disappointed 😔

Could of done with more chips and when I went to eat my burger it fell apart. Decided not to have a pudding after that.

Can't even tell you how disappointed we were with food this time round. Fathers day burger special was awful and wish i hadn't wasted money on going out. Beef burger was like a piece of slop so i couldn't eat it, not like we've had from here before. Usually food is great. Really disappointed and even more so that when i told the waitress she just replied it was from the same company so should have been the same. Definitely wasnt the same otherwise id have eaten it. Tasted undercooked when i tried it. Man behind the bar was lovely though and staff were lovely.

Spoke to the kind manager and after she explained that the supplier had changed and that she will send them the feedback, all has been resolved. Thank you.

Went there with wife and kids (2/4/18) for a Easter treat and after waiting a good 25-30mins for service they took our order.. not really busy at all when we went there.. food came quick but was either undercooked or overcooked.. asked for certain things to be removed due to allergy and still came on the order..



Used toilets after and found both the gents and ladies had no toilet paper and if they did it was left on the floor behind toilet near toilet brush (very hygienic)



Must say won t be going anytime soon



We was also told no certain drink after ordering it and when we went to pay it was quite clearly visable in undercounter fridge.. and when we did See them to pay and complain they just did not care..



Never mind as rather pay the extra fuel and go to Carmarthen for meal instead

Went for a meal had a mixed grill that you have to pay up front raw chop raw stack asked for it to be recooked after 10 minutes found out it was chucked in bin not even an apology would of taken it home and cooked it will not return awful please beware

i have eaten at the starling cloud many times before and have had this problem before, three times before this, making this the fourth time. I booked a table for my family for 6pm on this date,i booked at least 24 hours earlier, i have just come out of hospital after a very painful injection into the spine and we were all going to eat at the starling cloud, i booked a table and asked not to be seated near the kids play area as this has happened three times before and i did not want any children running round in case one ran into me ,as i said ive just had an injection, we turned up five minutes before 6pm only to find that the table we had booked, table 24 was booked and confermed on the phone to me,was already taken and the people on that table were just about to be served, so we were shown to another table and yes it was right next to the kids play area, it wasnt even full in there !!!

we were given no explanation for this and as i said this has happened before to us, i have been off work for a while due to the treatment i have been recieving but when i go back to work, i am a local bus driver, i shall be informing all my passangers about this and advising not to eat there because of this !!!! As i have said before this was the fourth time this has happened to us but i am positive its the last time as i will not eat there again and i will also be telling everyone in Aberystwyth and the local news paper.

As you may gather i am not happy about this

Visited the Starling Cloud for the first time in 2018 last week (mid Feb). It was Saturday evening, at roughly 8.30 (they serve food until 9.45pm). The restaurant was probably a quarter full, but all tables were dirty or had glasses/crockery on. Sat down and waited for table service. In the end we went to order our drinks at the bar, and were told someone would come over to take our food order. I think we waited around 20 minutes in the end of someone to come over to us since we first sat down.



Oddly, when taking our order, the waitress apologised for the state of the restaurant (which was very untidy and dirty). I agreed and commented on the fact that our table needed a good wipe down. Nothing happened, and I eventually went to ask the bar staff for someone to wipe the table. The same waitress returned some 5 minutes later to wipe the table, flicking food onto both of us in the process and then leaving her cleaning items on the table next door. No other tables were cleaned in the 3 hours we were there - despite staff chatting at the reception desk and being at least 4 on duty.



Our food orders were simply placed on the table, not even asking who had ordered what or putting them in front of us. We were given 2 knives and 1 fork.



At the end of the evening (we had been joined by friends). Last orders were called at 11pm (not a problem), however we were rudely hurried out of the pub with hardly any notice. A staff member came by giving up "5 to 10 minutes" notice to leave, which was surprising as drinks were still being served. Before the 5 minutes were up he was back to tell us to leave. I did question the fact that 5 minutes hadn't even lapsed, to which the reply was "we'll be in trouble if you don't leave now". There was no apology or politeness and we left feeling incredibly annoyed at the service.



Obviously we realise every pub has to close, but a warning of 20-30 minutes would be more reasonable, with a reminder at 10 minutes. This is the case in most pubs, rather than being rudely chucked out. Sadly, having tried to give this establishment the benefit of the doubt over a few years now, I won't be bothered to return. I'd recommend going to town or Park Lodge and eating at the many pubs and cafes available, all of whom will be grateful for your custom and polite.

Haven’t been there for ages so decided to take a friend there for lunch yesterday. Nothing special about the meal. Gammon was not very good quality and the chips were a bit pale and limp. I could have made a better meal at hone. Plus the upholstery needs a good clean. Very badly stained. Won’t be rushing back there. Lletty Park will get my custom from now on. Can’t fault it there

Dreadful meal tonight, plus poor service and a very long wait for food. Plus we were not warned in advance that there was no cooked chicken available. Very disappointing.

Obviously we realise every pub has to close, but a warning of 20-30 minutes would be more reasonable, with a reminder at 10 minutes. This is the case in most pubs, rather than being rudely chucked out. Sadly, having tried to give this establishment the benefit of the doubt over a few years now, I won't be bothered to return. I'd recommend going to town or Park Lodge and eating at the many pubs and cafes available, all of whom will be grateful for your custom and polite.

Haven’t been there for ages so decided to take a friend there for lunch yesterday. Nothing special about the meal. Gammon was not very good quality and the chips were a bit pale and limp. I could have made a better meal at hone. Plus the upholstery needs a good clean. Very badly stained. Won’t be rushing back there. Lletty Park will get my custom from now on. Can’t fault it there

Dreadful meal tonight, plus poor service and a very long wait for food. Plus we were not warned in advance that there was no cooked chicken available. Very disappointing.
