The Swellies

We had two swellies breakfasts. They were okay but beans were cold and other stuff just warm.
Cappuccinos were both lattes.

Great little cafe on the marina in Felinheli. Excellent home made food for breakfast and lunch. They also have a selection of newspapers if you've got the time to relax.

Lovely cafe with a beautiful view and great coffee. Child friendly. Seating outside with lovely views of the boats.

Very pleasant friendly staff. Greeted as you walked through the door. Not a lot of choice in cake range which is what we wanted but what we had was lovely

Brilliant location offering a wonderful selection. We had the breakfast and throughly enjoyed it. A must next time.

Great location, great food (when available!), however some members of staff would do well to research what customer care entails, as their attitude leaves a lot to be desired. Published opening and closing times, seem to be simply a rough guideline. If you want to eat something cooked on a Sunday, I would advise turning up after 09:30am and before 03:00pm !!

£3 for a bacon sandwich with Black pudding. 1 piece of bacon and a big piece of Black pudding, more bread than meat.... Spar min y nant in Caernarfon, same thing Where ü get more than 1 piece of bacon £2.80! Ridiculus.

So Felinheli for the most part seems like a one-street village, you can drive all the way through it in 2 minutes if traffic is light. However, the place has it''s secret hidden nooks and corners.

The Swellies is definitely one of Felinheli's hidden gems, nestled in next to a pretty little marina. The place is a little small, but it's pleasantly decorated and the staff are always friendly and helpful.

I've been several times and the food has been superb each time. The only thing that would knock off a few points is the fact that the menu is rather small, but I suppose a small kitchen and limited staff has its constraints.

I want to particularly highlight their soups, it's always homemade with seasonal ingredients and absolutely delicious. If you're lucky enough to catch the Apple and Celeriac soup, definitely go for it.
