The Tales We Tell

Stories surround us, from the mythic to the minute, the personal to the universal, the secret to the outspoken.

This event revolves around the broad concept of tales told and re-told, altered, translated, re-interpreted, critiqued, celebrated.

We welcome contributions from; artists / writers / performers / musicians / poets / spoken word / academics / video installation artists / invited talks / workshops – the aim is to present and collate an assemblage of creativity based around the premise of adaptions, The Tales we Tell.

Examples of content may include, but not be limited to;

• Artwork
• Discussion or reinterpretations of myths, legends
• Re-visions of popular tales, through art /music /poetry
• Workshops encouraging visitor participation
• Talks /discussions around the central theme
• Installations
• Musical performance
• Dramatic performance

The remit is broad, and centred on Adaptations, and the re-told story, so please do not hesitate to get in touch if you have an idea for inclusion.

A little about me… I am from Wrexham , currently teaching in Glyndwr University, and undertaking a PhD in English Literature /Creative Writing in Aberystwyth. I am fascinated by the many ways in which tales shift, and are re-mediated, which has led to my prospective Doctorate. I would kindly request that participants allow me to document the event, for use in my own research.
