Fab food, welcoming helpful staff and lots of hot water for a lovely bath after our Free Rein trek!! Thank you for looking after us so well!
The "locals bar" is comically unpleasant and barren. How many signs can there be telling you what is not allowed? Hostile and frankly grim environment, avoid. Very lukewarm reception from the 2 members of staff present. Just bizarre and inhospitable.
Nice food made on premises & friendly staff
Was busy day we visited but lovely staff and lovely Sunday dinner.
Good quality home cooked food is served here. Very good value for money. A nice sized beer garden, but it is on a main road. The Trout has improved 10 fold since being taken over. Would definitely say it is one of the better pubs in the area.Topped off with a good quality pint :-)
What a lovely family run business in the middle of a sleepy village. Wonderful food and staff. Amazing.
Good beer, cosy atmosphere, nice food.
Comfortable enough but not the promised home cooked food at all. Scampi was from a frozen pack (they brought it out to check allergy possibilities). 'falafel' burger was a cheap store bought vegetable patty, no falafel in sight. Chips? Large portions but standard frozen store bought kind. 'Home cooked' seems to mean heating up cheap supermarket fare. Food looks nothing like photos on website either - very misleading.
