Located in remote area with good access. Has moderate parking space. Outside appearance and interior decor are in good taste with whitewashed appearance walls, wooden beams with fireplace. The host is most welcoming and attends to all guests. The food is nice. There was a good range of lagers, beers and ales available. Over all a good place to visit.

Visited here last weekend for Sunday lunch after just driving past and calling in.

On arrival we were welcomed warmly by who I think was the owner. We hadn't booked but were quickly accommodated, offered drinks and shown to a table.

Drink selection seemed varied with various beers, wine's and spirit's. In particular my wife said the Pinot Grigio was very good.

The pub was fairly quiet on arrival but numerous tables arrived during the meal, ranging from couples to large families of 8 or more.

Child portions of the Sunday lunch were offered which were sizeable (looked like half a chicken) with large Yorkshire puddings and a selection of veg brought out on separate dishes to serve ourselves at the table.

Adult portions did not seem significantly larger than the children's, as my wife and I had beef, but in fairness all the plates had a plentiful serving of meat.

The food was tasty and well prepared, I found the roast potatoes and the Yorkshire pudding slightly bland, but all of the vegetable sides were delicious and well prepared. The beef and chicken were also very good, beef was cooked well and cut appropriately.

As with the mains, the desserts were plentiful and something for everyone was on the menu, including a good selection of cheese's.

Overall feeling was that it was a stunning little location, staff were friendly, although one or two seemed new which caused some confusion when ordering but was nothing significant.

The value for money was good, cost approximately £75 for 2x Adults and 2x Children for two courses with drinks. This is more than I would usually like to spend, however the food overall was very good and the service provided was also good in support, so o felt this was fair.

My wife and I are looking forward to having an evening meal there in the future, without the children, to sample their evening menu and some more of their drink selection.

First impressions were excellent. We were greeted by very welcoming owner/manager. Staff all very polite and helpful. This pub has been decorated to a very high standard and was very clean (strong smell of polish was very off-putting throughout the meal) 2 course Sunday lunch was a bit pricey for the standard/quality of the meal we thought. We ordered slow cooked beef which we felt was just the usual sliced beef and a bit on the chewy side. My husband's starter of pate was reminiscent of a certain supermarket brand. However, my deep fried brie was quite nice. We were asked how our meals were...to which I replied ok and they didn't blink an eye. Would we go again? Maybe...we wanted very much to like it but were disappointed unfortunately.

Everyone is happy and friendly and the food is good and they do gluten free meals. That's a plus for me.

I have been the this pub a couple of times for Sunday lunch and it was one of the best I've ever had - went to white hart last night for a steak meal and was very disappointed with the meal, the service was 10/10 the meal was a 5/10 I'm left feeling disappointed
