Time Machine Quilting

Another first today, the glue from the large areas of Bondaweb keeps gunking up the needle, causing skipped stitches. I've got to go back over the whole quilt, unpicking and re-stitching those areas 😖

I've done the bare minimum to this quilt, yet it has taken 5 days. All the ends have to be tied and sewn in to give a presentable finish. Hopefully, it will look good displayed at Cae Hir Gardens, August Bank Holiday weekend.

I've owned my Gammill machine for over 17 years, and today I used the bat-eared long reach ruler for the first time, thankfully only needed at the 4 corners as it fights back 🙄

Not easy to see, but I've ditched the pink triangles and all the diamonds today. Still loads to do...

We went to the Royal Welsh Show yesterday, the heat nearly killed me but it was an enjoyable day. A disappointing lack of quilts in the handicrafts, there were quilted cushions, maybe there isn't a category for quilts anymore 🤔

Had an odd bit of time to fill, so I finished joining the long strips for Japanese Garden. I will join the long strips together a couple at a time, as that's the tedious part, all those centres to match

Loading this beauty on the machine today, tacking the layers to ease excess fullness down the sides. Not sure what the quilting will be, I'll give it some thought over the weekend...
