Hi, I'm Tom and I am an Independent Consultant for Arbonne International. My Arbonne journey began in 2013 after my partner Yvie involved herself in a team of motivated and inspirational business owners. Their common thread was that they all owned their own businesses, or were employed AND shared the Arbonne products with others on the sideline.

I used to watch Yvie come home from a Training meeting completely buzzing from the experience, and ready to change the world for a better place. The positive effect began to rub off on me, and it started to feel right to link Arbonne up with my own career. But I wondered, was this really a job for guys as well?

I have been working in the outdoors arena for over 10 years; whilst becoming a successful athlete on the adventure racing and mountain biking endurance scene I have also worked with a huge variety of people of all ages and backgrounds, assisting in their personal development through team building, charity challenges, road cycling, coaching, kayaking, climbing, mountain biking, camping and mountain skills. With a long-standing keen interest in the way the mind works, I naturally turned to NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) to add to my coaching and life skills.

Starting my own Arbonne business was certainly out of my comfort zone. I am surrounded by cosmetic products that are designed for women, right? Or so I thought. So it's a liptsick business, but it's also more than that.

I began to discover that as a Network Marketing company, it was also one of the leading NM companies in the world, ranking in the top 20 globally. OK, so it's doing well, but what about for me? I also started to realise that like no other business I've been involved in, Arbonne has a way of changing lives by offering an opportunity in the guise of self-development, leadership, healthy living practices and nutrition. Now this is more my thing.

Oh, and there was one more thing - financial freedom. I've been working since the age of 13, on farms mostly but also in personal development, in the UK, Australia, New Zealand, South America, and in the outdoors industry even taking people across the European continent to help them discover themselves. Yet I was still stuck struggling to pay my bills, help provide for my family with three children, whilst living a basic lifestyle without holidays abroad, new cars or regular cinema trips, because we don't ask for much. You'd think that after all the work effort I'd put out over the past 27 years, that the money would be nicely piled. . .

Unfortunately, it's not. And in this global economy, I doubt that will happen for generations to come. However, I now understand that there is a way to increase the earnings, to increase the savings, to the point where my employed 'job' will be my hobby because I'm interested in my line of work in green energy and training, and the benefits that they will both bring to many, and that my legacy will be about changing lives through having the means to help build other people's dreams. And all this will happen thanks to the opportunity of Arbonne, where I get to build a residual income (think of royalties in the music industry, or even the Harry Potter stories) that will allow my family the financial freedom to take our holidays abroad every year, pay for the new car - although the Mercedes Benz is lined up thanks again to Arbonne - to allow us to take the kids to the cinema at the weekends, or Centre Parcs, or to watch shows at the West End followed up with an incredible dinner at a swanky restaurant. . . all without breaking the bank. Then still help to fund an orphanage, a rescue shelter, our school's much-needed new gymnasium, or help pay for immediate private care. Not bad for a lipstick business.

I'm a coach, and helping others to learn for themselves is my favourite quality. I'm in a position to be able to coach others to build an Arbonne business also, and to grow a business that will simply be about sharing experiences as an Arbonne Independent Consultant, introducing people to our skin care, anti-ageing, nutrition, cosmetics and aromatherapy products.

That's right, it's a job that is about sharing. Just like we do everyday, we share what food we like, what film we saw, where the best retail outlets are, which is the best utilities company to use, the best school to go to, and even the best toothpaste for our kids.
