Had a very pleasant stay 3nights for Easter. Julie and Anthony are the example of how a Bed & Breakfast should be ran. Lovely breakfast with locally sourced sausages, bacon, lava bread and home-made jam/marmalade.
VERY DISSAPOINTED. Our stay was really dampened by misleading advertising. If you're making a booking for a family of 2+ grown people - you are very likely to be alocated the 'mobile home/caravan'. Be aware: BREAKFAST IS NOT INCLUDED in the room rate, although it states otherwise on the website!! Nor are included any toiletries. The caravan sits right by the roadside (very noisy!); it's quite dated, some windows are damaged and have gaps, some lights are not working etc... Thank godness for the views outside otherwise there wouldn't be a single positive note... Breakfast can still be ordered from the menu (pricey!). Why would I want to spend extra when booking confirmation says it is included?? It was a very unwelcoming surprise after arriving at 9.30pm after a 10 hr long road trip. I wasn't expecting luxury for this price - we've traveled a lot all over the Europe and can easily adapt to spartan/basic living conditions as long as we're truthfully informed beforehand and can arrive well prepared. An apology from the owner for misleading advertising would have been nice. We won't be coming back- we are not fans of dishonesty.
The only warning I would give is don't be put off by the ridiculously low nightly rates. My room was well decorated & spotlessly clean. The proprietors were welcoming friendly & courteous. The room had all the necessary facilities for providing the guest hot drinks as & when required. The beds were very comfortable & spotlessly clean as was the en-suite. The dining room had beautiful views across the fields & extending out across St. Brides Bay to Skomer. The breakfast choices more than catered for normal requirements, however I understand that if at the time of booking the proprietor is warned in advance, special diets can be easily catered for. The cooked breakfast I had was well presented & cooked to perfection. I am more than happy to recommend this establishment to any one staying in the area. This guest house is the perfect example of how a Bed & Breakfast establishment should be run. If I require accommodation in the area I will certainly return ( if they will have me)
