Stayed for a few nights here and wanted to give it 3 stars but unfortunately a couple of things there really let it down.

One of our main issues was the noise. Noise just carries between the bar/restaurant and the rooms above. Our room was right over a speaker in the dining room which resonated in the room from early morning onwards, which was irritating. It was the Friday evening which really ruined our stay though. The karaoke in the bar was so loud its bellowing noise ripped through the entire place and carried on well past midnight when the rowdy customers carried on as long as they could. We had no notice of this before our stay and may possibly have thought twice if we had. I was ill and so just needed to rest but the noise and how it carried through the room was so disruptive I had a really bad night and felt so much worse in the morning.

The rest of the stay was okay - you get what you pay for. The whole place is a bit tired and could do with new chairs etc but comfortable for the price.

Just felt there was a lack of consideration for guests who didn't want a racket. Shame. Otherwise would have been 3 stars.

My son and I wanted a cheap hotel for one night whilst on a photography trip. We booked Ty Dderw on the strength of the Trip Advisor reviews and the very reasonable pricing.

At this price point we weren't expecting anything better than "ordinary". For the facilities, this is exactly what we got. A basic room, but comfortable, clean and adequately equipped. What we didn't expect was the genuinely friendly service. All the staff were happy, very courteous and very helpful. The food was very good with exceptional helpings - neither of us could finish our main course (which is close to sacrilege for a Yorkshireman....). Breakfast was also superb.

The only negatives I can come up with are largely irrelevant. The TV in the room was small with limited channels. The decor is basic, but perfectly adequate. However, these aspects are massively outweighed by the quality of the people, which is what turns Ty Dderw from "ordinary" to "would happily visit again"

Well done - not many hotels could deliver this service at this price point.

Food was ok. Service was as expected. Sign colours really need a rethink and car park needs attention.

Food is great. Room i stayed in was dusty and poorly cleaned. Maintance is also an issuse. Bulds not replaced badly painted. wouldnt stay here again. Staff were friendly and the views are great. its an old building so i didnt expect perfection. the whole accomedation area could do with a really good clean. Could do with more staff in the morning one person doing breakfeast service and checkout had to wait a while. Manager doesnt seem to be managing anything

We booked a one night break at the Ty Dderw and had a wonderful relaxing stay here. Very welcoming, real log fire in lounge area. Beautiful building, food was of exceptional quality, friendly staff, lovely clean rooms with great views of the sea. Breakfast was very good quality and very filling. Excellent value for money and would definately stay again.

Went for dinner and drinks for a friend's birthday. Drinks were good and the service staff were friendly and helpful but the food was mostly industrially pre-prepared and assembled on-site. Several items across our group were a bit over-cooked or arrived cold. To be fair the menu was just about to change, so we may have caught them at a bad time.

Ok, had a mushroom and steak pie. It was luke warm and standard fare, I was hoping for a little more.

Given 5 stars for the pleasant staff who made you more than welcome.Yes place needs a little TLC but very comfortable and bedrooms clean.Breakfast certainly sets you up for the day, stayed for 3 nights and had evening meal each night lovely food and plenty of it.Just have to say the owner needs to put one extra staff on during evening meals for the restraunt side,so the barstaff can cocentrate on serving drinks. All the staff day and evening never stopped. Will come again.
