Some good advice. Adopting a cat should be something well thought out and all avenues considered before making that long term commitment. They are part of our families for a long time and are not disposable. They bring a lifetime of unconditional love, but are not cheap and should never be adopted without planning ahead. #adoptdontshop #catsareforlife

Nelly, Maisie & Saffie. 3 beautiful 6 month old kittens looking for their forever home. They all have different personalities, Nelly on the left loves cuddles and constantly wants to be on or near you. Maisie up top is a little less confident but still loves a fuss. Saffie on the left is a mixture of both. Currently being fostered near Pontardawe, all fully vaccinated, neutered and microchipped. #adoptdontshop🐾 #cattreeo #tynantcatsanctuary

A BIG HUGE thank you to everyone who supported us at the Nataly Churchill evening on Monday. Hope you all enjoyed. It got quite emotional at times.
HUGE thank you’s to Karen Hicks of Taste cakes, Tom Thomas Pet shop Neath market Nerys Griffiths of Nerys Griffiths jewellery, Angharad from Cwtch a Cariad, Sarah Scorey photography and Helen Thomas for the great raffle prizes. And the staff at G2 for the donation. If I have forgotten anyone please let me know as I’d like to say ...thank you.
You helped us raise a fantastic much needed £500 that will help towards our vet bills for our furry residents.
Finally thank you to all the volunteers who worked hard to arrange and promote the event. 😽😽😽😽

Theo was chuffed as chips today as he finally got to use the Hammock on the new cat tree. Teddy usually hogs it but he was distracted with some cat nip. Look how happy he is 😺😸 #adoptdontshop🐾 #fivcatsofinstagram #topbunkcat #tynantcatsanctuary #fivcatsrock @ Ty-Nant Cat Sanctuary

The Financial Stuff
Lots of people have been asking what our adoption fees are. Hopefully the following will clarify.
We ask a minimum of £55 for kittens, they will be vet health checked, vaccinated, microchipped and flea and wormed. ... For our adult cats we ask for a minimum of £60, they will also be vet health checked, flea and wormed, vaccinated, microchipped and also neutered.
We spend a lot more than this on getting our furry friends ready for their new homes, but understand that we need to charge similar fees to other rescues to find our babies homes.
We don’t have card facilities at our sanctuary, we only accept cash I’m afraid. As card facilities cost more and it’s money we could spend on the cats. All reservations must pay full adoption fee at time of reservation, as we have had cats lose out on homes in the past by people who have changed their minds.
All adoption fees are non refundable. 100% of the adoption fees go to the healthcare of our cats.
Any questions about this, please message us as we sometimes miss comments.
Thank you.

Do you have a warm barn or stables and love cats? We have some feisty little females in at the moment who would be much better suited for the outdoor life, than the sanctuary life. We don’t have enough volunteers to work intensely with them to try and socialise them sadly. From experience we know that they won’t get chosen for adoption so run the risk of spending a long time at the sanctuary, which whilst we don’t mind looking after them, it really isn’t fair on them.
The...y can’t be released where they were found as they don’t have anyone feeding them there or it is a dangerous location. They have been or will be neutered, health checked and vaccinated before leaving us.
If you have a suitable home for them please get in touch. They will need food and water, medical attention if ever needed and warm shelter and in return will keep down mice and rats naturally.
Message us for more information. A volunteer will need to come and do a quick check, nothing intrusive, just to advise on introducing to your property. Xx

🎃🎃 Hocus Pocus 🎃🎃
On this All Hallows’ eve I would like to introduce you to the Sanderson sisters. They are mischievous, wicked, manipulating and all powerful. They will entice you with their soft fur and hypnotise you with their magical eyes. They will cast a spell on you to fall for their cute little mannerisms. Just like they have with their foster mam. They have the power to make you feed them dreamies and tickle their fluffy belly’s. Don’t be fooled in to thinking they are innocent, they know how to turn you in to their slave. All are available for rehoming. If you have a coven that can handle them then get in touch. 🧙‍♀️🧙‍♀️🧙‍♀️ be careful they will put their spell on you. #mysticalcats #spells #sandersonsisters #hocuspocus #tynantcatsanctuary

This little lady was found straying in Llanelli. Door knocking, posters and collar didn’t find an owner. If you believe she is your cat, proof of ownership will be needed.

UPDATE - whenever we post kittens our inbox goes nuts. Unfortunately we don’t have the volunteers to answer every single query I’m afraid.
The kittens will be available to be reserved on Sunday between 12 and 2:30. We only reserve in person on completion of a questionnaire and checks. Please do not be offended if you are turned down, our cats are our priority and we only rehome to homes that are safe and suitable to the health and well-being of the cat/kitten.
... We would prefer the bonded kittens to go in pairs however there are 2 that aren’t bonded.
We don’t adopt any of our cats or kittens out as gifts, we have allowed this in the past and they have come back to us because the recipient was either allergic or had no bond with the cat.
We only reserve on full payment and don’t have card facilities at the sanctuary.
Hopefully this has answered all your questions and we look forward to meeting you on Sunday.
Here are some of the beautiful little kittens we have available for adoption over the next few weeks. We are open Sunday for adoptions 12 till 2:30. We only allow reservation in person by the adopter and adoption terms apply. #adoptdontshop #kittensofinstagram #tynantcatsanctuary @ Ty-Nant Cat Sanctuary

Happy Black Cat Day
We must be very lucky as we have had lots of black cats cross our path here at Ty-Nant and they have all been wonderful for their own little characters. Here is one of our past residents Sooty who has a wonderful new home with his new Mam and she has turned him in to a little snuggle bug. Isn’t he gorgeous? Show us some pictures of your Ty-Nant black panthers. ... We always love an update. 😊😊
