'Upbeat music students' is a new closed group I have set up on here as a base to organise events for the students. If you know of anyone that would like to get out and socialise with other students then please join to be kept updated. Just type the group name above into facebook and click to join. The Upbeat Performers showing off their new shirts:). They will be performing at a charity gig for alzheimer at Llandaff Rugby Club on Friday April 17th along with two other fabulous singers Elin Parisa Fouladi and Fay Joanne. Tickets are only £5 and every penny will go to the Alzheimer Society 🎵🎶😊

Can anyone help?? I'm looking for a venue for a charity concert which the Upbeat Performers will be involved in. It must have wheelchair access, parking and a bar. The charity is the Alzheimer Society Cymru. I visited one earlier who wanted £150 and wondering if there's somewhere else cheaper. Thanks :)

Happy new year!! I'm pleased to say I did make it back from Tenerife, even if it did take 30 hours!! Totally shattered but excited to see you all and to see where Upbeat will take us this year :) I'm always looking for new ideas so if you have any please throw them my way. Here are a couple of things I'm going to be looking into this year:
Out of class social events for students, e.g. cinema, bowling, walking, food, pool or whatever else they would like.
... Myself and another support worker will be playing in care homes.
Possibly arranging weekends away for students.
Arranging social nights out for staff and family. Upbeat would be nothing without you :)
The only costs incurred with any of these would be the activity cost (no charge to Upbeat) If anyone would like to be involved in any of these then please let me know.

I think the Christmas party might be my favourite event of the year!!! So many happy, smiling students and that's what it's about 😊 It was only possible with the help of Ian and Sue who helped set up and Vicky and one of our wonderful students sorting the raffle. A massive thank you to you all for coming and making it another success and for all my cards and gifts. I'd also like to say a special thank you to all who have shown so much love and support over the past couple of difficult months. I know this has been a difficult year for many of you too so here's hoping for a new year filled with good health, love, kindness and happiness. Merry Christmas everyone! 🎅🎄❤ Liz xx

Lovely afternoon celebrating another successful year of the Upbeat Performers ❤

Getting ready for Christmas at Upbeat!! Jess putting up and decorating the tree today. Sessions finish on Friday 20th and we reopen on Monday January 6th. Dont forget the party on the 23rd though. It's a sell out🎄🎅🥳🎶

Some of our students and their staff showing off the new equipment bought from all the money raised. I cant thank everyone enough for their generosity after the theft. I would particularly like to thank Rachel for completing the Tenby Ironman, our Performers for completing a sponsored walk and Mary Pickrell who has donated so much to us over the past few months. I wont be letting these things out of my sight!!
