Jeff has done it again....the specials board looks amazing. It's full of mouthwatering locally sourced Welsh produce such as a cockle and lava bread starter and a Braised shank of lamb in a rich red wine gravy and creamy mashed potato. Yum!!

Don't forget it's quiz night tonight! Jackpot has been rolling over for a few weeks now...you have to be in it to win it!!

fabulous atmosphere very welcoming and the food is all home made and absolutly delicious not a morsal real left on our plates.....because everything is home made my friend could not resist two helpings of afters......will definitely go back.

Wow, just wow. We stayed here for one night and wish it could of been longer. We met the owner Tony on arrival to which he showed us the room and asked if we were eating there that night. To which we booked a table for 2. After a day of mountain biking we headed back, quick shower which I might add was very lush, and down stairs we headed. The place was quite busy and we were shown to our table instantly. 2 starters which I had the prawn cocktail and my wife had the soup. Very tasty indeed, followed by a 8oz sirloin for me and chicken breast. Our food was top notch, couldn't fault it. We topped it off with a tiramisu which again was soooooo good. The whole eve was a great success with the waitresses looking after us from start to end and even giving us some advice of where to visit. Jo behind the bar is a credit to the place. She is on the ball with everything and has such a great warm smile. We headed up after this and dozed off on what has been the most comfortable bed ever. We were sad to leave today but made some friends I think and will be returning. Thanks Tony and Helen for a great experience and all the staff there. See you again soon 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Went there with friends for an evening meal. 4 adults, 3 kids.

Happy to make up a table for us while we got our drinks in the bar. Lovely staff, fab food and a good price. Kitchen staff fab to, they made a beautiful blue cheese sauce that wasn't on the menu to go with a mixed grill.

Will definitely be returning.

We braved the snow over the Brecon Beacons to get there last night. It was well worth it the food was amazing. I had the salmon from the festive menu. It was beautiful. Will definitely be going again soon.

Popped in for a Sunday roast in the way to the Brecon's and it was fantastic. Great service and can't recommend enough. Happy to offer side plate for our daughter so she didn't have to have a huge portion. ��

We’ve dined here several times in the past and have never had a bad meal but this was the first time we’d actually booked a room for the night.



The room was perfect and the bed was probably the comfiest we’ve slept in however our biggest compliments must be given to Tony, Helen and all of the staff who made our stay so much more enjoyable due to how welcoming they all were.



We’re already planning on returning!

My husband and I stayed at the Usk and Railway on 07/04/17 and it's safe to say, we will be back again very soon! Helen, Tony and all the staff were nothing but warm, friendly and welcoming - you guys couldn't do enough for us and nothing was too much trouble. This was our third time dining here for food, but it was our first time staying overnight and we weren't disappointed! The room was tasteful, clean, well presented and had everything we could possibly need - including an en suite bathroom. We ate here three times during our stay - we had three course dinner, breakfast the next morning and Sunday lunch, which was by far, the best Sunday lunch we had ever tasted! Overall, food was delicious, plentiful and there were plenty of options to choose from. We cannot wait to book to stay here again soon. Thank you so much for making our stay at the Usk and Railway Inn such an enjoyable experience. Danielle and Louis

Lovely lunch at your Inn yesterday cockles and laverbread omg absolutely gorgeous and best burger I've ever had. All excellent meals and large portion size we couldn't move ate so much lol sorry we didn't call back for your cream tea we didn't have room, but will definitely call again. I came in for a meal with my parents and son recently and what a lovely warm welcome by not just the staff but locals too. As for the food we have not enjoyed a meal out so much for a long time. My son actually ate his which is an achievement on its own lol Thankyou so much, we will certainly be returning x

Have just spent a great couple of days here, and must say that it is excellent. From the attentive staff to the great food (highly recommend the double stack and the sirloin steak, but not on the same evening).



Will definitely stay here again when next holidaying in the Brecon Beacons.

Have been going past this place for a long time travelling from Wolverhampton and decided to stop for Sunday Lunch today .

On arrival we were greeted by the owners who were very friendly, the staff were very accommodating and pleasant, on first impressions the establishment is spotlessly clean which is a rarity these days.

We ordered our food, which was freshly cooked, didn't have to wait very long and was plentiful. no complaints whatsoever. Prices were very fair for the quality food.

As i have worked in the catering trade for many years and food manufacturing so have some knowledge of catering.

Absolutely superb and will definitely be eating there on our next trip to Pembroke.

Had a lovely stay here on Friday 26th may. The rooms were presented well and looked loved. The beds were very comfy. The owner was very helpful, even knocking to give a polite breakfast reminder was nice and making sure we didn't get locked out late at night. The breakfast was tasty and filling and a choice of teas was nice. It looked like a very popular place to be. Great drinks at the bar and a nice outside sitting area. The leaflets in the guest book in the room lead us to go to the showcaves which is a nice few hours out.

All in a very friendly, welcoming place to stay and I would definitely stay here again.

Never had bad food...and the garlic mushrooms are insanely amazing �. Can't wait to visit again...Christmas menu to try next ��

Amazing food and friendly staff I'm gluten and dairy free and the staff and chef were more than willing to cater for me came here yesterday was so good we have come back,it's nice to come to a lovely local pub where the chef takes pride in his food 10 out of 10 for the chef 👍

Absolutely Fantastic food � service was outstanding if we are ever back this way it will be a must to visit again thank you did come back again still good food shame they run out of bread and butter pudding thanks Brian and Jeff the chef land lord and lady ??! If we ever leave Yorkshire again to come to the breckons you're place will be at top of the list for food � and a good pint of carling

I was not impressed the loud music and loud singing carried on until 4am which is when my alarm went off as I had to be up early for work, had very little sleep from this. They could have warned it was going to be this rowdy and wild at the weekends as would have stayed somewhere quieter.

We were recommended to eat here as we were on holiday and the food and the warm welcome from the staff and landlady were great. After dinner we asked is we could bring our doggies into the bar and the landlady agreed as there was a big empty space by the fire so we wouldn’t bother anyone. Several people came over to see the dogs (Newfoundland’s) and even had their photos taken with them. Then the landlord came over quite rudely and told us to leave as our dogs were stinking the pub out!! We had no problem with taking them back out to our van but there is a polite way of asking and this was not it. He was ignorant and spoilt our lovely evening. Then he lied to us about his name because we said we were going to do this review - nice one Tony!!
