Well what can I say, first visit today for mask fitting and radio therapy planning. Mixed emotions on way up there, scared, over whelmed but I can honestly say as soon as I stepped into the velindre and was greeted by the receptionist I was put at ease. The radiographer team were amazing and treated me as an individual and not a number. The care and time they took with me made me feel at ease and I walked out of there smiling. I take my hat off to the three ladies and the gent that looked after me as it can't be easy but you were all amazing with me today and for that I thank you. Best wishes to you all and happy weekend. Alex

User

User

This place is amazing can't thank the 1st Floor Ward enough for the love and support they have given us over the last 2 weeks. I'm glad Mam (Mair Parry) is coming home but we will be sad to say goodbye to all the staff. Thank you again for everything keep up the good work xx

User

Such amazing people and place.

DonŌĆÖt care to think what I would do without them thank you from the bottom of my heart.

User

My mum was admitted into Velindre for routine tests after a fall, the staff were all amazing and mum had a really good relationship with them. Sadly mum (Denise Gunn) very suddenly & unexpectedly passed away whilst still in hospital, I think all the nurses were just as shocked as us but they still stood firm and looked after all of our family. They are amazing x

User

My MumŌĆÖs on her 3rd round of chemo at Velindre today. I canŌĆÖt begin to express how wonderful this place is. From when she first knew there was something wrong, right up until today you have been amazing. Despite being so busy with an influx of cancer sufferers you go above and beyond to help both my parents, particularly when MumŌĆÖs bloods have been off kilter and her chemo keeps getting rescheduled.

You are all amazing. DonŌĆÖt ever doubt it, no matter how stressful, busy and frustrated you feel some days. YouŌĆÖre doing the best you can and itŌĆÖs working!

My Dad, Trevor Jury was undergoing radiotherapy for throat cancer and was 4 weeks into his 6 weeks treatment. Sadly he passed away the early hours after his 84th birthday on 16th August. Not cancer related but his heart just gave up. No one expected this to happen ’┐Į’┐Į’┐Į The caring staff and the volunteer drivers at Velindre were absolutely amazing. I thank each and every one of them from the bottom of my heart My Dad was sooooo pleased to be receiving such care at his age. People are very quick to knock the NHS but I have only seen love, compassion and care Keep doing what your doing you are all fantastic ’┐Į

I was diagnosed with incurable brain cancer 3 months ago I am 27 years of age with a fiance and a 5 year old daughter, this news was a massive shock but to say velindre cancer centre has helped would be a big understatement. The help and support me and my family have had from velindre is amazing, I have radiotherapy and chemotherapy 5 days a week and all the staff are so cheery and really make my day 5 stars really isn't enough for this amazing hospital so much love thank you velindre’┐Į

User

I was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma 17 years ago and recieved all my treatment at Velindre. I was under the care of the amazing prof Tim Maughan whilst having my Radiotherapy, and also my in- patient care on first floor. The treatment was first class, and I always found the hospital to be a place of reassuring calm during this difficult time. When Prof Maughn moved on to Oxford, I was placed in the care of the lovely Dr Gallop Evans. I have nothing but admiration and praise for Velindre, and its doctors and staff. I am now thankfully in remission.

User

I cannot praise this hospital highly enough, the facilities, the atmosphere and the fabulous staff make this a wonderful place to attend in, what will probably be, one of the darkest times in a person's life. Just brilliant !!!

User

I cannot express how they whole of the hospital went above and beyond to help my sister during her brief illness. From the moment she was diagnosed with cancer and the treatment she received from Velindre, to the palliative care given to her in the last week. The staff are fantastic and caring and not just with my sister but with the whole family. I am truly grateful for all the care and assistance shown to us and my sister in the last few months.

Much love and appreciation

Having cancer is a disaster for anyone, but for me i feel like going to velindre is my safe haven, a beacon in the dark of night and a place of care and understanding. All because the staff genuinely care about you, put you at ease and help you through the dark moments of emotional torment and physical pain. I wholeheartedly applaud all the staff and volunteers for the magnificent way you have looked after me and undoubtedly all my fellow cancer sufferers, you are truly amazing people

Amazing staff who show compassion , understand and really do go that extra mile for people when they are at one of the most difficult times of their life. The chemo clinic nurses have been very patient with my shy veins and tried to make it as easy as possible for me. Stayed in for 4 days last week and all I can say is the care that the staff gave me was outstanding, in particular the determination of the kitchen staff to find something that I could eat was amazing. Amazing staff who truly care about their patients xxx
