ITV contacted us this week to ask if we’re still running trips ‘on the beautiful waters of Pembrokeshire’. Lisa Faulkner interviewed Tim 3 years ago for the This Morning programme about what it’s like to run a jet boat business in Pembrokeshire. It’s been pretty amazing so thank you to everyone who’s enabled us to do this crazy thing & make a living out of playing on a jet boat :-) . We’re getting a lot of enquiries along the lines of, ‘We know you’ve retired but when are yo...u running?’ We're trying to be disciplined about this retirement thing! While we have the boat we're planning on doing some limited edition jet boat trips in the summer (at normal prices, perhaps 2 or 3 short days a week) but not before late June. We'll be putting the boat on a commercial sales site shortly but these things take time so Shearwater will continue her adventures in Pembrokeshire with and without passengers until she sets sail with new hands at the helm. The time frame will depend on the plans of the new owners but we'll keep everyone updated. Have a great Easter weekend everyone.

Apparently today is National Puppy Day in the USA. It's always Puppy Day around here :-) . Thank you to the Venture Jet dogs for keeping us all in order.

Shaun White, playing at sea as only jet boats can. When he started building boats in the 70s RIBs were the preserve of the military & rescue servies. He took the RIB concept but built in aluminium rather than fibreglass. Fascinated by the development of jet boats in New Zealand he did the crazy thing, imported a New Zealand jet & built a RIB around it. The Ribworker was born. Shaun's jet boats set the bar high - for versatility, manoeuvrability, strength & longevity. The first Ribworker, built 37 years ago, is still working as a salvage & rescue vessel. We are looking to rehome Shearwater so if you know anyone looking for a stonking 9m RIB please pass on our details :-) In the meantime there's likely to be some jet boating but not until the weather improves! Thanks to Lyndon Lomax for this lovely photo taken the week before we retired. The boat looks too smart to retire, not so sure about us :-) . We're getting a lot of enquiries for this season (& indeed this month, you hardy souls!) but we have retired & we're trying to be disciplined & get stuff done ashore rather than rushing out to sea. What happens next depends on who takes on the boat, where & when. While she remains with us we're likely to do a limited number of trips this summer but not before late June. Our passengers love Shearwater because she's so much fun but at heart Ribworkers are very much workboats, ideal for search & rescue. Blue skies and sunshine. I dimly recall that. We have no idea how many thousands of times Tim has driven through the Bitches but this was taken some time in 2009. Thanks again to Lyndon Lomax for brightening the day with these lovely colours.

We're not the only ones to enjoy playing on the white water off the Bitches. It's weird to think that we had the reef to ourselves for years before it became popular with kayakers. It's quite an adventure for many passengers just to watch the paddlers - some of them are very impressive.

I’ve always been a big fan of Venture Jet, but the reason I really love them is their customer service. We took our 2yr old along, they suggested the best day and trip and made sure we were all happy. I’ve never seen fog/mist like it, but the wildlife and fun was all there. You have to experience Venture Jet! P.S. Our boy handled it like a pro!

Their knowledge of the wildlife is second to none, they are the most friendly people you could meet, and they really know how to raise a good many smiles and laughs. Had a cracking trip out today with family & friends around Ramsey Island on The Shearwater. A brilliant mix of bird & seal watching (& a touch of added geology!) plus some very exciting boating, riding some beautiful waves at speed! Our two guides/skippers were really knowledgeable & great at opening up important conservation messages to both kids & adults. Fully recommended.

Great trip out,from fast and furious to gently watching the seals and wild life on the shore line and caves. Well recommended.

Fantastic skipper, great fun, very knowledgable and skilled people. Great to see things from a different angle and to see the porpoises �. Thanks again
