A super supermarket, very high quality goods, not as expensive as their reputation tends to lead us to expect.

Great place to shop for all your quality foods. Car park is a bit tight though and always busy. Great situation for the high street.

User

Great range of goods, always find what I want....and more. Store always clean and tidy.

I spend a small fortune on a weekly shop here as have been a Waitrose customer for years - in different branches, so feel my feedback is well qualified, and I hope they take it on board.

1) First irritation is that when I have to shop late due to work, the fish counter is all but closed, as they pack up early. As this store is in a rural catchment location, without an alternative fishmonger, this is very annoying, and for people who also have to shop late, it deprives us of what is one of my main shopping requirements.
2) As mentioned by other reviewers,,when you reduce food that is at it's sell by, please do so generously, and graciously. The discounts are mean, unlike M&S who geuinely want to sell these items fast, and seek customers out with a smile, often alerting passing customers of great discounts they are just putting out. However, there is a prevailent sniffy attitude in Waitrose by staff when marking discounts when customers show interest, and they often stop what they are doing and walk away - or display irritation. Rude.

Helpful staff a quick visit using self check. Also had a free coffee. Just what you need.

Had a bowl of carrot soup with two buns and it was very tasty but the soup stayed very hot for a long time and therefore took approximately 30 mins to fully consume . I managed to finish it just in time and got back to my car with only 1 min to go before the parking ticket expired. The cafe itself is pleasant enough as are the staff . Where I sat , two tables had been placed together and where they joined there was a slight difference in table top height . I had placed one of my buns across this joint and when I leaned on the table this created a turning action on the bun which gave the impression that it was moving by itself .At first I didnt realise the actual cause and suspected that it may have been paranormal activity . I would recommend this cafe at Waitrose .It seems to be very popular with middle aged women who buy tea or coffee with a single banana - 4 of which were present during my visit

So so as stores go. Does the basics well and the staff are always helpful and warm, but as a business, it does not really go the extra mile in service, prices and offers.

User

Quality and at the same time overpriced produce. Tory farmers and trust fund hippies mingle to ensure stocks of duchy organics get a swift turnover.

Best supermarket in Monmouth. Pricey but great selection - especially of ales - and you know what, the people who work there smile. So. Yay.
