We had so much fun at the anniversary event last month and wanted to share these wonderful memories with you all - Thank you! #10Years 💫

Wales comic con is always a must for me and my family each year. The main thing that I think could improve it is to have all the guests in the main hall and not to have stalls in there witch causes it to get so over crowded. There is always room next to the marquee so why not have 2 marquees next to each other and have all the stalls/vendors in there. But I will say a huge congratulations to the team because its always a great day had.

User

WCC 10 year anniversary was my first WCC and I loved it. Layout was nice and simple, easy to find where guests all were and it’s good the photo op areas are side by side, very easy to resolve any clashes. All the staff and crew were amazing and so helpful. All the guests were amazing as well. Only criticism was some of the long queues covering other guests however that’s a small crease which can easily be ironed out.

Can’t wait to attend for a second time, hopefully in December :)

User

This was my first ever con and I was worried about what it would be like and if I would find my way around etc but I had a great time. Staff were really friendly and helpful and I quickly discovered where everything was. I initially bought tickets because of Mark Sheppard. He was quite late (no ones fault) and staff were really informative and updated us when they could. The queue system for the photo ops was a bit confusing but I just asked a member of staff who was really helpful. She also informed us when it came to light that the photos with Frankie Muniz was running late and so we were able to go away and come back. So overall it was a great experience! All the guests I met were really friendly as were the staff. I would also like to add that other con goers were really nice and helpful when we got chatting to them in queues! Will definitely be coming back!

User

This is the second time going to the Wales comic-con in Wrexham in the last 12 months and its an awesome day out. Everyone is so friendly and happy with helpful staff on our way home now and already planning our next trip in December

User

This is my 5th year and I've gotta say this was probably the most fun I've had! We missed the winter one so not sure if things were changed then but the white tent being full of actual merch stalls was amazing! I've said all along what the con needed was more stalls and it would be perfect. As usual the rest of the con was amazing and the entire team from crew to security were on point as usual and did anything they could to help us if they could. We don't wear the easiest costumes in the world but everyone looks after their favourite Alien and Predator and it is much appreciated. Here's to another 10 years of the best con in the UK. Well done Jaime and the rest of the team! Have a rest you deserve it!

User

Really enjoyed the April show. Great stalls, good guest interaction and my daughter loved seeing everyone's costumes.

My only whinge would be that as a newbie to this event, it was a bit confusing in the morning where to queue up to get wristbands. Could have done with more staff to show you around or clearer signs. Obviously we'll know for next time if we attend again.

User

Me my Mrs and my little brother attended this event and not only was it awesome and people don't say this very often the security team was amazing due to the fact I wanted to get my replica axe (gimli) signed by John rhys-davies because you know a picture would be to normal I wasn't allowed to take the weapon on site which of course I agree with but the team assured me we could do it aslong as the guest was fine so after a few wonders round the con. I caught up with the security team who found me a escort into the guests with the axe got it signed (amazing ) and got us safely out again not only making the con special for me but I also managed to trade the special metal writing for a signature for my little bro :)

So a big thank you to the team for going above and beyond

User

First time at Wales comic con and it was fantastic! Originally going to go just for the experience but ended up meeting Hayley Atwell when she was announced as a last minute guest!!

Autograph queuing was flawless and super quick! The photo op queue was longer (which you would expect) but still very well controlled!

Lovely weather, fantastic event and an all round awesome time!!

User

Excellent experience having the opportunity to meet some more of my favourite stars as this was my 3rd convention this year (all 3 within 6 weeks of each other, events 2 and 3 were just 6 days apart). I obtained all of my photo opps which I purchased which was fantastic, although I was only able to obtain 75% of the autographs which I was expecting (the 25% that I missed out on being the Buffy cast members who were present). This was because I was told that their autographs were only available via tickets which sold out and that I might not be able to get in anyway if I lined up as the line was immense. So I sacrificed the opportunity of obtaining Buffy cast member autographs to obtain autographs and selfies from guests that I wasn't expecting to obtain.

The only issue for me that I have regarding the event was that there was no form of tanoy announcement system to inform fans that their photo opps or the Q & A panels were due to commence. This kind of system is in use at previous events that I attended. Please may I suggest that this kind of system to be placed under consideration for future events?

Other than that, as I said, I had an excellent time at the April event. I only wish that Part 2 of this 10th Anniversary event was not on the same weekend as an event in Manchester which I attended last year which really encouraged me to travel out of Stoke-on-Trent to meet my favourite celebs. Although, at the moment, it is 2-0 in your favour if this decision that I have to make was a football match as the event in Manchester has yet to announce any guests.

Thank you very much for a brilliant line-up of guests at the April event and I will definitely be attending next April's event if this line up of guests was anything to go by. As for December, who knows.

User

Been coming to Wales Comic Con for a few years now and every year they deliver an even better line up! One of the most decently priced cons guest wise too in the UK. All talks are free and great fun. The crew work hard and run a good con which is an amazing feat with the unusual venue. It really does feel like being at a big top level convention but with the chilled atmosphere of smaller ones. Lines don't get horrendous for signing. It's a perfect balance. I would recommend it to anyone

User

Well, firstly I would like to wish you a very happy 10th anniversary. Congratulations.

This was my third visit to Wales Comic Con but it’s the first time we have come in April as we usually only attend in December (which we will again this year as well).

I have to compliment you on your guests as you always seem to pull out some excellent choices from the bag. The ones we met were absolutely brilliant and so nice. Your staff were amazing and went above and beyond to make sure we got to photo ops on time so we didn’t miss anyone. Managed to squeeze 11 celebs in which is some kind of record among my friends and a personal best (although Collectormania 25 is getting that way), I never would have managed that without the helpful staff. Thank you.

My biggest disappointment of the day is not getting into the Buffy tent so I could get Anthony Head’s signature (I did have a photo op though) and I missed our meeting Amy Jo Johnson and getting her signature (I hope you get her back again).

The weather was amazing, think the University needs air con, particularly the building you use for photos. And the Marquee with the stalls was like a greenhouse. If I wasn’t sat in a wheelchair I think I would have passed out from the heat. Felt terribly sorry for the traders being in there all day and the amazing cosplayers in their heavy costumes.

Speaking of cosplayers, once again, so many amazing costumes. So much effort put into them. It restores my faith in humanity at events like this where so many people come together to show off their creations and get to be themselves at the same time without hiding behind a suit or something 9-5 during the week.

Suggestion: Maybe time to find a new venue? With the popularity of the event it’s becoming crazy busy and a possible health and safety issue in places where queuing. Having popular guests in the same hall as trader tables doesn’t work anymore. You either need to change things or introduce a virtual queuing system and give people a number and time a come back.

Anyway, I think I’ve said enough. See you in December!

User

Took my daughter (wheelchair user) to her first ever Comic Con, because she wanted to meet Mark Sheppard. It took her a little time to get used to the crowds, but once she realised that everybody was having a great time and everybody was so kind she relaxed and really enjoyed herself. Mark unfortunately got there really late, but that wasn't the organisers (or his) fault. He did his best to see everyone, we got some fantastic photos with him, and he was absolutely lovely.

My only concern was the length of the queues to get into the buildings. It was a very hot day and not many places to shelter, and not many places where water was available. I didn't know we could get an access pass so did struggle a bit there, until the staff saw us and sorted it out for us. The crew were all amazing. All of them had a smile on their face, answered questions patiently and helped with whatever they could. One poor lady must have been fed up to the back teeth of seeing us, and answering our questions about Mark.

We didn't have any problems with wheelchair access, because my daughter was in her manual chair which is quite easy to get up and down kerbs and every building was accessible via flat thresholds or ramps. However I can see that others in motorised wheelchairs or even larger manual ones may have had a problem as there weren't many dropped kerbs. Again, not the organisers fault as they can only go with what the venue offers. There were plenty of disabled toilets and facilities were good.

I guess we'll be back next year, seeing as how my daughter has 'the bug' now...

User

Unfortunately it was rather disorganised. There were 2 buildings for signings but nowhere did it state which guests were in what building so I ended up queuing for no reason. Later when I was waiting for a photo op, no one had mentioned that times were running over so I went to the appropriate hall at the time in the schedule, only for a staff member to come over after 40 mins telling me I was making their job a nightmare by creating a new queue and confusing the other people because it was now running late. Excuse me! Had to get out of the queue and wait to queue AGAIN.

That aside the other attendees were lovely and the guests were chill.

User

I enjoyed it, but I felt like it was a bit of letdown when there was no cash machines, in the building and having to go the nearby garage and use their cash machine, also having go back to the long queue all the way at the back. That's not all security was dead tight and everytime I enter a part of the building there's always security checking your bags. Don't get me wrong, I had a good time at the event, the staff were nice in general and met amazing cosplayers.

User

I attended on the Saturday of the April show -When I saw the guest line up I knew I had to get to this con , for the most part it was great

, I’m so glad I got there early cos due to it not being signposted well I had a bit of confusion as to where the guests I wanted to see where but I eventually found them and four of the five I wanted to meet where in the same room so that made it a lot easier to get things signed ect , the problems started when I went to see the last guest on my list , in the morning I queued up for about an hour to meet Anthony head , got to the front only to be told he’s had to go to his talk and then his photo shoots (ok fine that no problem) we where given “virtual tickets” and told come back about 2 and u can get in to see him (great ) I went back at 1:45 just to be safe and the queue was huge but I waited anyway for over an hour , we get to the front but then are told “we aren’t letting any more people in due to there being to many people in his line , so they where only letting people in for the other buffy cast members , but people then where jumping from the others to his queue meanwhile the staff where not doing anything about it , after two and a half hours I managed to get to the door and even then I wasn’t allowed in , I came close to missing my train but eventually I got in and met Anthony (who was lovely btw )

Not blaming the guests or staff but if you know the guest is popular and they are only there for one day maybe make prior plans to accommodate the sheer numbers of people and don’t give out “virtual tickets “ if u aren’t going to use them properly .

User

Having been a regular for a number of years now at Wales Comic Con it's great to see it growing in terms of popularity and fantastic guests on the bill. However, this weekend demonstrated that the organization and staff need to be better prepared for the large scale of the event. Buildings were not sign posted with staff giving out incorrect information with many clearly out of their depth on how to handle basic inquiries and stressful situations. In particular with the Anthony Head signing which was very poorly managed with a few staff members unable to maintain professionalism with the chaos. The guests were absolutely lovely and Anthony himself saved the day for me by offering to stay later to try and meet as many of us as possible. I found the virtual tickets a bit of a strange idea seeing as this wasn't advertised anywhere as a possibility but could be useful if done properly. Overall, better organization would really help for a smoother running for everyone. We still really enjoyed the day and fun atmosphere that Comic Con never fails to have!

User

Attended Sunday, many great guests, & enjoyed the talks we managed to get in......

However, never got into any autograph signing hall to see any of the guests as the queues were massive. Three attempts and the last attempt we were told it had closed. So very disappointed.

This is the third Wales Comic Con we’ve visited and the mostly poorly organised of all. It should either be open longer, or limit amount of attendees for the size of the venue.

User

As a first-time visitor, I think it could be improved by having more signs. I think signs on the road showing how to get into the university to park would have been helpful and there was not enough parking and no advice on where to go if the car park was full. The map in the booklet suggested one hall was just for autographs but from what I read on this group afterwards, it seems that there were also some stalls inside. I think the people who had stalls inside lost business because people like me did not know they were there. I think it would be helpful to have a sign outside each building saying "building A: queue here for..." and may be a sentence to say "general admission" or "additional ticket required". I thought the other building was just for photo ops and since I had not bought a ticket for a photo op, I did not join that queue; did I miss anything in that hall too? Similarly I heard people asking why everyone was queuing along the corridor, a big sign saying "queue here for Q&A. Next Q&A is (person) at (time)" would have helped.

User

The stalls were good as were the guests. My low rating was due to the poor queue management. The car park was completely blocked due to poor management. All the buildings were over legal capacity which is a huge health and safety issue. I nearly passed out twice. If you’re thinking of attending, try one that has an experienced event team. Also, I got in all the places and only hand my wristband checked once, maybe go for free in December
