Warrior Activities Centre

About Warrior Activities Centre

The centre is set up for all military personel, serving and ex-serving, disabled and able bodied. There are options to come on their own, in groups (like combat stress) or with family and friends. To make the centre self sustainable we plan to open the facilities up to other users who will have a set programmes to chose from. The centre hopes to offer a wide range of activities, there will also be projects running along side the day to day activities of the centre. As the centre plans to open up to the general public, there will be areas specialised to disabled use, children and team building etc.
We plan to provide a quiet retreat for individuals and families where they are taken away from outside pressures of everyday life but also giving the opportunities to reconnect, try new things and help each other by getting involved with the projects. We plan to keep the costs as low as possible by getting the whole community involved, for example getting groups like universities and other youth groups like scouts to get involved as they have an incentive, of gaining experience etc,
The centre is planned to build up in stages, first of all with restricted activities and camping instead of log cabins. However doing it this way instead of all out at once will not only give us time to gain some more funding but also help us gain reputation and experience.
