Rooms were fine, staff were welcoming. However there is no parking. Also there was little effort put into finding breakfast items I could eat due to dietary requirements - it seemed 'play it safe' was used rather than actually reading packets/cooking mushrooms in oil rather than butter.

Good food, reasonably priced. The staff are helpful. There are vegetarian options which can be adapted for vegans.

Nice atmosphere and set up. Good prices on food and drink.
They have gluten free and vegetarian options marked clearly on the menu.
Came in on a Monday and they were serving Burger Night which I got excited about.
Ordered the all American burger and when it finally came it was completely burned... the bun was hard as a rock and a complete disappointment.. so I sent it back and waited another 20 minutes to get my food while my husband has obviously already finished his. He had the chicken breast that was not bad.
My burger was burnt again so we got our money back and left.

At least the drink was free with the burger...:(

Very nice and welcoming interior with sports on the big screen and many ales on tap. The only let down was the food being slightly dry and overcooked, but I think the chef had a lot to handle that day. Outside courtyard was pleasant for lunch

Took my family of 6 out for supper. Didn't have a reservation but the restaurant only had about 5 people in it. Waiter simply stated "Our kitchen is backed up so we can't serve you" Never have we seen a restaurant turn business away like that. Walked a block to another restaurant that was wonderful. Won't go back.

Lovely historic building right in the centre of town. Polite + attentive staff - fantastic cooked breakfast!!

The Welly is a really nicely spruced up pub. The decor is tasteful, the toilets great and the chairs comfy. Breakfast was good and the burger I had a while ago was really good. It does feel a tad unorganised, and it's never the quickest for food. Plus Brains beer on the whole is cack, so drink the Rev James stuff. That's palatable. Worth a visit when busy basically. P.s. thanks to Brains for tidying it up outside, does make town look a bit better!

Nice friendly staff, food great however son (9) didn't feel there was a good choice for him. Also very dark inside, it felt as though someone had forgotten to put money in the meter or they had had a mass light bulb extinction event.

My son booked a meal for Mothering Sunday evening 6-30pm....Three of us....two roast beef...one chicken....It was appalling !!!.....Slices of beef warmed up...Roast Potatos obviously cooked at lunch time then warmed up...soft absorbed in fat.....Brocolli.beans.carrots completely uncooked ..hard and raw....We could not eat it....disgusting....the starters were pathetic...only the dessert was enjoyed ...at £17 per head will certainly not planning on returning ....Footnote ; I love the Hotel..just had refurbish looking magnificent...which needs meals/service to complement.....I strongly suggest you close down kitchen until you find a chef who is proud of his food/creations ...The Wellington deserves better !
