About Welsh Sports Hall Of Fame
The Welsh Sports Hall of Fame is a charitable organization created to commemorate the sporting achievements and preserve the artifacts of Welsh athletes. It was established in 1980 from the memorabilia collection of Welsh radio commentator G. V. Wynne-Jones. Since 1990, inductees to the hall have been chosen annually by a trustees committee comprising representatives from athletics, media, universities and museums. The organization has also given awards to individuals for outstanding contribution to Welsh sport.
The Hall of Fame previously was on permanent exhibition at the Museum of Welsh Life. In 2009, it was announced a permanent exhibition would be housed at Millennium Stadium in Cardiff, Wales.
The committee of trustees is chaired by Lord Brooks of Tremorfa.
