Very basic single room with shared bathroom (with bath) used during Offas Dyke walk. Bar downstairs (but not food). OK breakfast.
Slow service. Lager nice and cold though 😀
Simple good services, visited many times, love it :)
Probably needs a bit of redecorating but otherwise quite good. Watch out for the low door frames if you are over 6 feet tall
They sell Guinness and have a dog called ' Fudge ' .
This is a wonderful small hotel with no pretensions but all the necessary amenities, plus it's clean and affordable with terrific breakfasts. One of the best things is the location, and as any traveler will tell you that's a powerful incentive. I stayed for two weeks without a car, and was able to walk or take the train (the station is within easy walking distance) absolutely everywhere I wanted to go. Lots of places to dine or shop for necessaries within blocks, and beautiful scenery and history to boot. Having a wee local on the ground floor is an advantage when you want a pint of an evening or to watch a match on the big screen, or just to chat with the affable landlords and staff or the neighbors. I'm going to the area again next year and will definitely make the Westwood my HQ. Book your stay at the end of September/first of October and enjoy the Welshpool 1940s Weekend, a terrific living history event!
