Whimsy And Blossom Description

I left my job at the local authority to have my children and have been searching for a new challenge now they’re at school. I have always been a creative person, but I discovered a passion for ceramics after joining a class ran by the school my children attend. The enthusiasm the teacher had inspired me and she gave me the confidence and help to do it myself – for that I will be eternally grateful!

I am constantly thinking of new ideas and get inspiration everywhere I go and cant wait to get the clay out when a new idea pops into my head. At the moment I work in my front room (which is purple, hence the name! ) at night when the children are asleep and my long suffering husband has to put up with my things constantly spread all over the floor, but I don’t think he minds too much…!

The thing I enjoy about this work is that because everything is done by hand it makes every piece unique , from the way the clay is formed to the way the glazes work in the kiln.

I have never been one for a lot of fuss, so my pieces are simple. I also think this way they will fit into most peoples homes effortlessly.

You can purchase items through my Facebook page or via Folsky.com, I also have items stocked at Sweet Williams, Herbert Street, Pontardawe. Special orders can take several weeks due to the long process of making and firing ceramic work, but please contact me to discuss and I can advise you on this.

I am happy to take on bespoke commissions, so please feel free to contact me to discuss your ideas and see what we can produce together.
