Have visited windmill hill for 28 years now and never missed a year. Smoothly run by the Gibby family, all lovely, kind and thoughtful. If we've ever had a problem they were always there to help. A beautiful, well equipped site.

User

Great site, good facilities kept very clean. Would happily come back and would definitely recommend to others

User

For me a good site has the basic ammenities right: enough toilets, free showers, under roof pot washing facilities and fridges for ice block that are kept clean. Tick to all the above, plus a lovely touch of the radio playing in the ladies loo, which makes me feel relaxed for those late night visit.

Stayed here for my first solo camping trip and felt completely safe and welcomed, better still only £6.50 a night and Pembroke has excellent public transport links.

After arriving in the rain, we were shown to our pitch by Jayne, the site owner (she's lovely). We pitched up our tent and made ourselves familiar with the facilities. There are two toilet blocks, one for ladies and one for gentlemen, however, ladies can be found using the washing up facilities in the gents' block as they're separate from the toilets and showers in there, whereas in the ladies they're integrated and far less private. In the washing up areas there are sinks, draining boards, a microwave and fridges and freezers, all of which can be used free of excess charges. The showers and toilets themselves are kept very clean and the showers are roomy and hot. There are plenty of mirrors and hooks to hang your belongings on whilst in the shower. There is also a hairdryer in the ladies block, again, free of excess charge. In a separate block there is a laundry room which doubles up as a tourist information point - offering lots of leaflets for local attractions, coastal information and numbers for local taxi companies and takeaways etc. There is a Speedy Queen washing machine and tumble dryer for public use, both with an excess charge, but are both very good and well priced. There's also a free book exchange / mini library in this room too for if you're stuck in on a rainy night.

The field for tents is big, and the pitches are well spaced and very generous in size, with a fire point and drinking water tap in the centre. There are some pitches with electric hook up points, once again at a chargeable excess rate, but very very well priced. There is also room for lots of caravans on a separate field, this has been gravelled and paved appropriately. The location of the site is excellent, a 2 minute drive from Pembroke and less than 10 minutes from the ferry port at Pembroke Dock. Just 15 minutes down the road is Fresh Water Beach and there are lots of other little coves nearby also and it's only 15 minutes to Tenby and Saundersfoot. Overall this site is excellent value for money - just listen out for the jets flying overhead from the local MOD sites and be aware that as it's at the top of the hill, it can get quite windy.

A beautiful site in a great location for seeing the delights of Pembrokeshire. Good on site washroom / shower facilities with heating in the colder weather. Washing machine, freezer and microwave for use by campers. The caravan field is all Tarmac roads with gravel pitches. Electricity also each pitch. Jayne and Richard are a lovely couple for whom nothing is too much trouble. All in all a great place to stay.
