Wings Lodge Description

The Lodge derives its name from a Charity promoted and supported by The Royal Air Forces Association whose object stated many years ago is simply “To render Service to each other” which remains the prime reason for its existence. The Association aims to preserve by Charitable means the memory, the honour and the example of those who have served in the The Royal Air force and the Air Forces of the Commonwealth.

All Founder members of Wings Lodge have served in the Royal Air Force and are all members of theRoyal Air Forces Association. . Their pledged purpose in forming the Lodge - having the Prosperity of the Craft at heart and being anxious to diffuse the genuine principles of the Art - to promote the ethos of Freemasonry through out the Universe and also that existing within the Royal Air Forces Association whose motto is “Not for Ourselves Alone. ”

Both organisations are bound by many traditions, but there are two in particular by which these Organisations are most closely linked - these ar CHARITY and FRIENDSHIP. These principles follow in the steps of the Great Masonic Charities and are supported by the Brotherly Love which exists in our Lodges.

Herein lies the foundation of serving the welfare of our fellows in thanksgiving for the inspiration of the Few who Served the Many.

In friendship and in service, one to another, we are pledged to keep alive, the memory of those of all Nations who died in the Royal Air Force and The Air Forces of the Commonwealth. In their name we give ourselves to this noble cause. Proudly and thankfully.

WE WILL REMEMBER THEM
