Working Horse Training Description
Coming from a background in both English and Western equine disciplines, along with coaching and training in both the equestrian and business worlds, I offer a bespoke service to enable you and your horse to develop the best partnership you can have.
I specialise not only in 'problem' horses (bad loaders, won't stand to be mounted, dangerous to handle on the ground, spooky to ride etc), but also in confidence training for the owner /rider, alongside more traditional ridden lessons, reschooling, trec /horse agility and more.
Working effectively, but sensitively, we will train together to enable you to have all of the tools you need to help your horse handle the demands of whatever job you need him or her to do. Whether that be competing without drama, hacking safely and with fun had by both of you, being safe to handle on the ground and a pleasure to have around the yard, or loading quietly and relaxed onto a trailer or lorry, without question, every time.
We spend a lot of time, money (blood, sweat and tears! ) on our horses, and in return they need to do whatever job we choose for them. It's my aim to help you to help your horse enjoy that job and do it willingly for you.
The standard session is one-to-one lessons, on the ground or ridden, at your own yard. The cost per session (60-90 mins depending on the horse) is currently £40 plus a small travel fee for anything more than 15 mins from the Pontyclun area.
I'm also thrilled to now be able to offer lessons at my own livery yard, which has a beautiful indoor school, full set of jumps and dressage boards. The arena hire is payable separately and is £25 per hour for one person /horse, £40 for 2 or £50 for 3. We can also work on exploring the direct access bridleways from the yard to build confidence while hacking.
