About Wrexham Athletic Club

We provide a range of athletic opportunities for individuals from age 8 upwards, whether it be track, field, road racing or cross country.

Wrexham Athletic Club Description

Wrexham Amateur Athletics Club was founded in 1954, the year Roger Bannister broke the 4 minute mile. Over the years the club has grown from strength to strength, offering all manner of athletic disciplines whether this is on the track, field, race running or cross country.

The club offers individuals a chance to improve their health and fitness and develop their talent, as well as meeting new people and trying something new.

All training sessions are organised and delivered by fully trained coaches. These coaches can best develop talent and advise on both correct training programmes and competition schedules.

Club training takes places every Tuesday and Thursday, between 6-8pm at the Queensway Stadium.

Sessions and competitions are held to cater for all age groups, from U'11s through to Senior and Master athletes. For more information on specific training times for these age groups, please contact the club.

The club offers members a comprehensive fixtures programme and competes in the following leagues /events:

North Wales Cross Country League
Welsh Masters Athletics Association Fixtures
North Staffordshire Cross Country League
Borders Road Race League
Fell Running

Hi all, there will be another multi events training day on 21st March at Deeside indoor track. High jump, long jump, shot and hurdles. It will start at 10.45 and finish at 15.15 and is open to U13s up to U20s and all abilities. The last one we had was very good and I think everyone enjoyed it. If you would like to attend please let me know or contact Geoff Ward directly. Many thanks.
