A magnificent photo from the Flamingo Specialist Group! Our own Caribbean Flamingos have been busy this spring and, all being well, we can't wait to welcome their little ones to the family in just a few weeks' time! 💜
We'll have daily talks throughout the summer holidays so you can learn all about these amazing wetland creatures and how they raise their young. You might even get to see them feeding their chicks with crop milk like this handsome fellow...🥰

It's always a joy to see young birds successfully fledge and we love this picture of a family of black-headed gulls taken by volunteer Roy Longley at the weekend.
The weather shouldn't be too bad this week (according to the Beeb!) so venture out into the wetlands to see what's about!

Calling all Harry Potter fans! 🤓🧙‍♀️🧙‍♂️⚡️✨ Enjoy the magic of the wetlands whilst you wizard and fall under the spell of our incredible wildlife because Llanelli Wetland Centre is host to inns, greenhouses and even two fortresses in the new Wizards Unite game! ✨ Greenhouses (where you get ingredients for potions): Observatory - check out our adorable Greylag goslings and Black-headed gulls with their chicks.... Water Lab - learn all about the water cycle and look for butterflies. Heron's Wing Hide - see if you can spot an Otter or a Little Grebe. Water Vole City - scurry along the tunnels and see what it feels like to be one of our cutest (and most endangered) wetland creatures. ✨ Inns (where you can pick up energy): Peter Scott Hide - listen for a high pitched peep and look for a flash of bright blue. Can you see a Kingfisher? Michael Powell Hide - look out for beautiful Spoonbills. How can they slurp their butterbeer with a bill like that? ✨ Fortresses (where you battle evil!): The Flamingo House - be distracted by our brightest wetland residents, the Caribbean Flamingos. Visitor Centre - Grab a drink or a snack and enjoy great views of the Burry Inlet and the birds on the feeders. ✨ Have fun, everyone - hope you enjoy meeting our fantastic beasts now we've told you where to find them! 😅

This Saturday sees the launch of Dutch artist Bouke Groen's The Bell at WWT Llanelli.
An antique church bell tolls within a sculpture of glass cubes. For centuries, bells have warned us of impending disaster. But what danger is this bell alerting us to? Will we heed its warning?
Come and join the artist for a short guided walk to experience the piece and learn about the project which aims to engage people in the debate about climate change. Guided walk starts at 12pm.
... If you can't make the launch, don't worry! The Bell will be in place from 8 Jun to 11 Aug and there will be guided walks every Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday at 12 noon during this time.
