The DVSA have contacted all instructors to advise them that a trial is taking place and it is legitimate. Please take a read if you want to know what it is all about :-) We do NOT provide your telephone numbers to the DVSA, they source this, I believe, from the information you provide them on your provisional application and test booking forms that you complete. :-)

Would highly recommend I passed first time my instructor was Ali she was very reassuring and made me more confident on every lesson.

When I first started my lessons, I was always so nervous but Alison always managed to calm down and help me believe in myself that I could actually pass! And I did, first time!! If it wasn't for her, I wouldn't have been able to do it and I would recommend XLR8 to anyone who is learning to drive as it is such an amazing company! Today I had passed my test after some time being very nervous to do it thinking I wouldn't be able to but to have Glen Evans as a driving instructor makes thing feel like very comfortable and happy with the progression to passing in the end, I wouldn't of done it without him so thank you Glen for putting you're time and effort in with me to get me to this stage ���

I'd recommend XLR8 Wales to anyone. I didn't take to driving naturally and really struggled with it but Ali was so kind and patient with me which was exactly what I needed and I couldn't have asked for a better instructor. Not only was she an amazing teacher but she also became one of the most supportive people in my life this year and I am so grateful - this is an instructor that cares about her learners both in and out of the car. She was always on time to lessons and did everything she could to squeeze me in around school and work etc. People around me thought that I'd have to stop my lessons and wouldn't be able to pass my test but today I passed first time with one minor. If she can get the world's most anxious driver to pass her test then anything is possible! Thank you for everything - peaches x

Rob, I swear you are the world's most patient driving instructor! You dealt with every thing I could possibly throw at you, tears, tantrums, sulks and more. You built my confidence bit by bit and even after the most toughest of lessons, still found something to be positive about. Even when I realised an hour before my test I had left my license at home , you stayed as calm as possible and got me home and back to Merthyr record timing. I was lucky to find your company and would recommend you to anyone. Thank you so much for not only teaching me to drive, but having confidence in me when I really didn't!

I was a very nervous driver but Ali worked extremely hard to get me passed in the 3 month deadline I had been given by my work. Being 27, I honesty didn't know when or if I was ever going to learn how to drive but, after taking on a new job and driving being a criteria for the role, I go my ass into gear (car pun). Ali was brilliant. She helped me through many a teary lesson and we had many a laughs and Ali got me my driving license within the 3 months. I just want to say a MASSIVE thank you !! If I were to do it all over again I would definitely choose XLR8 (if they would have me back)!

I took a 3 week intense course with Ali who is without a doubt the most patient instructor there is! Didn't have a clue what I was doing as we started, almost killed us both on more than 1 occasion + if any1 could win an award for the most nervous person I would!

But today I passed 1st time! I want to say a massive thank you to Ali who has actually changed my life! I had Such an amazing experience learning with you! thank you so much for the last 3 weeks! I'll be recommending you to everyone!!

I passed my test today 1st time. I can’t thank Ali Brooks enough, she has helped me so much for getting me through my theory and test. Her patients has been tested many times with me but she has given me confidence and the will to persevere. I highly recommend her and XLR8.

I passed my test today (automatic) with 2 minors, second time trying. I was extremely nervous and lacking in self confidence when I was learning before my first test and had a lot of pressure, from outside sources, to pass my test. Rob was very patient with me, and only pushed me when he knew I could handle it. I failed my first test, with 10 minors and the examiner had to use her brake, I was mortified. After this I was not put under pressure to jump straight back in but was given time to reset. As soon as I was ready to restart a month later (due to lack of funds), Rob fitted me in straightaway, which was a relief. Rob was very supportive throughout, and helped me to build up my confidence, couldn't have done it without him. Thanks!!

I passed my test first time back in October after a 3 week semi intensive course with XLR8. Did run into a problem near the start of my course as my work got in the way of lessons. However this didn't stop Ali, my instructor from giving me lessons before I started work. This, in my opinion, was beyond the call of duty and I can't thank her enough because without her doing this I would never have been able to complete the course.

Within these 3 weeks she also managed to get my driving to a very high standard where I was able to pass with just 1 minor. She has a lot of patience and teaches with good examples of why you should and shouldn't do the things she teaches.

Highly recommend using them. 7yrs ago I started to learn and my anxiety would get the best of me. I'd stop and start again. I gave up hope. Then I spoke to Rob on the phone for 2hrs about the intensive course and how it would benefit me. 2months on and today I'm very proud to say I passed 1st time. Thank you Rob :-)

I have just passed my driving test first time, all thanks to XLR8.

I can’t thank my driving instructor Ali enough. Ali has been absolutely amazing with me. She’s been brilliant fitting my driving lessons around my jobs as I work silly hours. She’s put up with my tears, and me stressing out. Ali always manages to calm me down and get me thinking of the positives. When I first started having lessons I was the most nervous learner ever, Ali managed to turn that around and made me feel confident in any situation. I really wouldn’t of done it without her. She also helped me towards my theory test with the questions I didn’t understand or know. Ali would take her time out and explain. I will be recommending XLR8 to everyone!

After many problems with previous instructors and difficulties balancing learning to drive whilst attending university, my previous experience was very ‘stop start’.

I came to xlr8wales and explained my situation to Ali. She completely understood and talked me through all my available options as to what would be the quickest, most cost effective option to pass my test in time before my theory ran out.

After just 3 months I was able to pass 1st time with 1 minor. I was given a booklet to track my progress throughout lessons, which also consisted of all the possible ‘show me tell me questions and answers’ that could be asked during the test, which was extremely helpful. Ali was always on time and never cancelled a lesson (something I can’t say for my previous instructors) and made sure there were no gaps in my knowledge, ensuring I was a capable driver in any situation and not just ‘learning test routes’.

Ali made me feel very comfortable and made learning to drive a good laugh, as well as being very focused. Would highly recommend

A rather fun experience with Ali, in between all the problems and snow she put up with my not having a clue about this driving malarkey with incredible patience and a fantastic teaching style.
