If you're looking for accommodation in Cardiff city centre, this brand new YHA Youth Hostel is perfect for you. Located in the heart of the city centre but with on-site parking (almost unheard of, right?), this Youth Hostel is within walking distance of all the city’s best attractions, including the Millennium Stadium and Cardiff Castle, not to mention the fantastic shopping destination of Cardiff Bay. If walking is your thing, the Youth Hostel is ideally located next to the Wales coastal path - perfect for wild walking by the sea during autumn and winter, and a relaxing stroll during the warmer months. If you fancy exploring the area, why not take a walk through the old dock area down to Cardiff Bay. In the bay you will find boat tours which operate from Mermaid Quay which will give you a great introduction to the area. There is also a water taxi service which takes you from the bay to the city centre.

We arrived a few hours before check in and the staff were very welcoming and pleased to,see us, they allowed us to leave the car whilst we went into the city center for lunch, the room we Stayed in was clean and tidy and very spacious, great price for drinks from the bar and a half decent breakfast, all in all i would recommend this hostel to,anyone looking too stay in cardiff, great staff, we loved the place xx
The best YHA I've stayed in. It was like a hotel room: 2 double beds, TV, ensure bathroom. The added benefit of YHA, rather than a hotel though, is that you can self cater and store your food in the fridge and freezer. We loved our overnight stay. We will definitely come again.
Stayed here for the evening. Great location. Only a 10 min walk to the centre. Very friendly staff. Comfy bed and very clean and tidy. Good rates to stay too.
Stayed for one night when visiting the student union for a gig. Really nice modern hostel set on the edge of the town. Fantastic welcome, staff willing to give directions to the venue and a great feel to the place. Room was good and perfect for a few hours crash. Will be booking to come back with my family to visit the city.
Stayed for a two night break with my children in a private ensuite family room. I can safely say that the facilities easily outstrip those offered by some of the well known 'budget' hotel chains. The room was clean and tidy, tv, hair dryer, small safe all in working order, and the shower room was equally well kept (great shower too!).
The dining area has plenty of space, both in the evenings and at breakfast time. The self catering kitchen has a good range of equipment and table space, there are two fridge freezers which get quite full when it is busy, you might need to play 'fridge jenga' to fit things in but that's all part of the fun!
Highly recommended as a base for a city break in Cardiff whether with family, as a couple or lone traveller. The Bay Area is about 15 minutes walk away, and there's plenty to see and do there.
Lovely staff too, helpful and polite. Quite likely to stay there again when heading to Cardiff!
Stayed for a night in a premium room for 4. Great value for money and very handed for the city centre. Taxi fare was less than £5 and reception were happy to call to arrange. Just one tip, make sure you bring photo ID with you. Breakfast was great too.

Only stayed for one night with our 16yr old daughter and 2yr old son! And I've already bored friends senseless about how great it was and we will definitely be back again!!Felt very welcome from the moment we walked through the door to the moment we left ,nice big room with 2 double beds , tv ,hairdryer , chairs and a en-suit everything was v.clean ,you are also able to borrow board games and the staff made our stay even more enjoyable being helpful with a smile along with everyone else that was staying there ,which speaks volumes about how everyone that was there was happy, only a walk from the city too but with super affordable prices ...Thank you Cardiff YHA!
On arrival I was amazed at the spacious room!!! The staff are so welcoming, helpful and accommodating. There is a self catering kitchen, cafe area if you have brought your own food and a well stocked bar. Prices are reasonable. There could be more choice for kids menu but that is the only thing to consider. Well worth booking!!

Where to start? From check in to check out everything was superb! All the staff were so friendly, polite, helpful.. Nothing was too much trouble for them! Ample free parking, free wifi such an easy going atmosphere the minut you walk through the door. The room for four people with two sets of very comfortable bunks was really big with plenty of storage space and the shower and bathroom was a good size too.. The room was spotlessly clean! The kitchen area, although not used by us was very well equipped and again very clean. The bar and seating area was also very comfy with a good atmosphere. The breakfast was very good value for money, with a good choice of hot and cold food with unlimited hot drinks and juices. We also ate at the hostel in the evening and again found the food to be of good quality at a very reasonable price.. Over all a great stay in a lovely place for a good price! Definitely recommend and will return!! Well done to all the staff at Cardiff YHA!
Just spent the weekend here with for my daughters 21st Birthday weekend. Any worries I had about this being a hostel were gone as soon as we arrived. Welcoming staff, bright, spacious reception area and very clean, large room with two double beds. Excellent all you can eat cooked breakfast for £6.25 and helpful directions from staff to locate the huge shopping centre. Cheap bar to start our Saturday night out and good local taxi service. Would definitely recommend for families, couples etc who are looking for a well run friendly place to stay. And I must apologise for my daughter setting the fire alarm off with her hairdryer!!
Ideally located for a walk into town and all that it provides. Came down for the Stones gig and would definately book again. Staff are great...breakfast is an optional. Bar till 2am. Rooms clean. Nuff said. �
I've stayed here a few times now and have always found the staff to be fantastic. Great night's sleep, good food, and friendly staff. Will recommend this as the number one place to stay in Cardiff!
I stayed there last night and it wasn't what I expected at all! Awesome! Bars, good space and good light as I'm deaf and half blind. The staff there so good even they sign language to me said thank u. They also got sheet on wall behind the bar with alphabet on it! Definitely will go there again 100%. I stayed there in the 20th April for one night with a friend and it was amazing, staff are great and hostel was amazing. would fully recommended it to anyone
Had such an amazing time there and was very well looked after! The staff were brilliantly helpful without any delay. I learned a hell of a lot and become a lot more social all thanks to the friendly staff and guests, I've made friends for life and would definitely recommend the YHA to anyone! Looking forward to returning in the summer and travelling to other hostels with my Son.

Brilliant. First stay in a hostel & will definitely be looking at booking them again. Stayed in a very clean 4 bunk room with 2 teens. Plenty of room & a great en suite for less than £50 a night. Really comfy beds too. Staff were all lovely, bar reasonable aswell. Small menu but option to cook own food is there too. We came for Doctor Who & it was 25-30 minute walk down. Couldn't have asked for more, great value ���
Brilliant place to stay . Only 15 min walk to millennium stadium or to hit the shops will defiantly use it again
