Cwmbach Diabetes group will be holding Health Awareness in the Community on Wednesday 13th November at Cwmbach Church in Wales School, from 2pm till 4pm
... Come along for a Cuppa and Cakes and find out more about; Diabetes; New Horizons; Mental Health; Drink Wise Age Well. EPP Programmes – on different health conditions and cooking together on a Budget. There will be a demonstration and food taster.

Due to factors beyond our control, there is a requirement to postpone the school flu immunisation sessions planned for the first two weeks after half term.
Sessions planned for the weeks commencing 4th and 11th November (on the attached programme) will be re-booked with the school as soon as the team are able to do so.
Parents of 2 and 3 year old children and children with a long term health condition should make an appointment with their general practice to have the vaccine....

World Cerebral Palsy Day is 6th of October.
Our Children’s Physiotherapy Service is at YCC today raising awareness of the condition.
Around 1,800 children each year, or a 150 each month are diagnosed with the condition. Its main impact is on movement and posture but it can also affect speech, eating and drinking, balance and learning.

The school immunisation team start their 11 week immunisation programme on Monday, 30th September 2019.
The team will be in your area soon and the attached timetable provides details of dates and venues of all local schools.

Our Chair Marcus Longley met with occupational therapists and some of their patients and carers earlier today at YCC to talk about their fantastic work helping those with early stage dementia retain independence at home.
Those who are referred by the memory clinics will have access to an OT for around 6 weeks to help them maintain their skills and confidence at home, while also providing vital support to their carers.
This work is being pioneered in Wales following success ...in Scotland, which saw 60% of patients who were provided with similar support, maintain their independence at home a year on.
While the service is only just beginning here it has already had a large number of referrals. Well done to the whole team ....your passion for what you do shines through! #MakingADifference #NHSWales
