At the beginning of this decade, Aman (the owner of 40 St. Paul’s) purchased a book from a charity shop entitled Cocktails For Two. It was kitsch and delightfully so, and has been a firm favourite for a giggle whenever he has been entertaining people at the bar.
Many of you will have experienced the impeccable service and questionable banter of the local legend that is John Warner, who has been with the bar for nearly three years now. We’re not sure who noticed it first, but within the aforementioned book (released in 1982..), there may have been a picture with an uncanny resemblance. John, who swears he was born in 1988, created this with one of our ex team members (Laura) and we’re in love. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do 😂😂.
