Went to the 442 yesterday evening on the first night of the beer festival. There was a good selection of beers and ciders. Other drinks were well priced too! there was a good menu of Indian food also a good price, plenty people eating. I had cheese cob and chips to go with the beer! All the staff were very friendly, would definitely visit again! Hope I win the raffle too!

Went to the 442 for a meal with the family. The new chefs prices are very reasonable and food was great! Very authentic and flavoursome. Will definitely be returning!

We went the 442 bar for the olly murs tribute we had a great time and really enjoyed it and the staff were lovely and friendly and was so happy we could take our little girl too as we like to get out at weekends and not many places allow children xx

Popped in with my son for a mixed grill. Bar lady was lovely, food was plentiful and very tasty. I would gladly go again.

Just got back from first visit to eat .food was excellent and plentiful a good drop of carling very reasonable price as well Def be back .

Had my engagment party here last night great service from staff who were working the lady in charge Hayley was polite and helpful all night couldent stop dancing behind the bar all staff were very friendly to my guests no problems at all would recomend to any one who wanted to hire room

I hired the back room for a private party on a Saturday along with a buffet package which was a selection of English and Indian food. Overall for 60 people we were quoted £350, nearly £6 pp.



As usual, there was a decent amount of food left over towards the end of the night to which the staff decided they would just throw away without even asking myself or my guests if they would like to take the food home.



When I approached the staff about throwing away perfectly good food, that had cost hundreds of pounds, I was very impolitely and abruptly told that they needed the room back ASAP with everything needed to be cleared immediately and the room back to normal. I was also told that the English selection of food was provided by an outside catering company who needed the tin foil trays back that the food was on. Surely a catering company wouldn’t mind losing a few tin foil trays for the sake of an order that was worth a couple of hundred pounds. This was around 12:10am....10 minutes after the hire of the room was supposed to of ended. I’m not sure how quick we were meant to have the room back in it’s original set up.



Shame really as it put a downer on what was a really good night. At the start of the night I had recommended the hire of the room to a friend for their birthday party, but based on my experience there I would advise against the private hire of the room for anyone in future.
