Went to Akbar’s for my 30th Birthday on Friday had a brilliant night. Food was excellent , quick service , friendly staff. I mentioned to the waiter it was my birthday and I got a free cake with a candle amd the staff were singing Happy Birthday. I would highly reccomend this place .

Went last night for the first time with my partner. The staff were so friendly and food was very nice and tasty. Will definitely go back again.

Went here on the recommendation of our taxi driver (first time in Coventry)! Saturday night restaurant full. Made to feel at home, superb meal and service. Will be going there again when we come back to Coventry.

We went last night on a whim and it was great, food was just a tad bit slower than normal but we spent the time chatting so not an issue for us at all. We have been many times before and have always received an excellent service the owner always checks on us every time we have been and food has always been of a high standard for us ..... hubby said his Tawa was the best one he'd ever had ..... sorry to hear others haven't experienced the same level of service we always have but we have no problem eating here or recommending

We had great night at Akbar with friends, the food was delicious from starter to main every served food was yum yum, finger licking, staffs were friendly, attentive, babie were fussy at some point the waiter was friendly then he offered them Ice cream to calm down.service was bit slow as we have babies around otherwise it's best curry place to enjoy meal.definitely going back again �

Was there again Saturday, what can you say that hasn't already been said. I never go anywhere else. If you've never been go... you won't be disappointed. My daughter comes home now and again from Leeds and she only wants to go to Akbars. It's like where do you wanna go for something to eat, she's like Akbars. Over 15 years and never been disappointed, if you have a problem with anything just tell them, trust me they will put it right

Took my wife there last night after we had our Xmas party there before. I have a gluten and dairy free diet the waiter was very helpful advising what I could and couldn’t eat the service was excellent as was the food just the one criticism was the music was a bit loud which just made everyone talk louder but lovely place great staff and food will definitely be going back again at some point

The best curry house in Coventry. Nas and his team deliver outstanding customer service and the food is great!!!!

Drop of a hat they got us in, great night with Fantastic food.

Once again the food was amazing. In my opinion the best Indian restaurant in cov. It was really busy and a couple of the waiters looked a bit stressed. They forgot one of our starters. When the meal came it was so ooooh nice. I've been using this restaurant since the 80s and never had a bad meal.

Polite staff but long wait at the bar. Then we had a 30 min wait after travelling a long way to get there but didn't mind. We were them jammed in the middle of the floor with an escort at one side of us talking very crudely, a screaming baby on one side and behind us a guy who laughed like a hyena.

The chips came out cold and dry (probably because it was busy) and the curry wasn't the best I had.

Whilst finishing the plate, had our poppadom a try to be taken from us twice, as well as clearing up around us whilst still eating and not even leaving me a plate on the table whilst I munched.

The staff were assistive and great but it was pushy service and again I'll blame it on the busyness.

My partner, other than the people around us enjoyed his meal but I'm afraid won't be returning again.

Booked meal for 8pm but had to wait till about 8.40pm to be seated. Nice meal eventually.

Always enjoy Akbars. They always find us a table when we go. even when busy lIke last night. Good service. Even if last nights curry didnt quite reach its usual high expectations hopefully due to Demands of St Patricks night. L.

Physically assaulted by Naz. held by the throat, wife kicked in the back! All for asking how long our table would be after not even being acknowledge for 20minutes after making a reservation! 6 men on 3 women! Disgusting! Physical markings on my face! Bruises on my wife's back! This place needs shutting down. Check out TripAdvisor ... It's not the first time people have been physically assaulted by him or other staff members!!!

Nothing better than walking into an restaurant and being told you need to be quick and hurry up. Sorry, didn't realise I'd walked into McDonald's!!! Walked into next door where they were happy to seat and serve us straight after; you're a curry house and people are likely to arrive after 10pm �!



Third bad experience on the trot, maybe you only get decent service if you know management or been going for years.

Food was poor, no flavour & too much salt - would not recommend. Dinner hall vibes.
